i heard people dislike it mostly because it's a all-white cast portraying people of color.

I saw it twice. Ridley Scott is one of the worst directors ever with this film. He manages to make one of the most interesting stories of all time such a drag to watch. He could've studied the characters and insert modern day common sense into them, which would've made us relate to them in a way that Ten Commandments never can. He could've even stolen from himself by just copying Gladiator:
Moses -> Maximus Ramses -> Commodus But nooo, Ridley doesn't even have the wit/sense/smarts to do that. Just awful. Having said that.....     When you watch Aaron.....even for the few seconds he's on screen....everything becomes real. Such an abysmal waste of talent. |
