Hi everyone :wave:,

The Fan Forum Graphics Team is in the process of (re)customising message boards and now it's your turn!

If you have any picture or colour suggestions please post them in this thread. Don't post (hotlink) the pictures, links to them are fine. Make sure that the pictures are of as high quality as possible and that the top of the head of the person in the picture isn't cropped off. We also like to use photoshoot images when possible, preferably individual pictures of each cast member. When suggesting colours please keep in mind that some colours will work better than others. The Team usually tries to avoid really vibrant and dark colours because we have found in the past that they are hard to look at for long periods of time. If you would like some help coming up with colour combinations we recommend checking out the Color Palettes or Coolors websites. As we want every board to have their own unique look it is preferable that you do not link to the customisations of other boards as suggested colour schemes.

Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions for this as you are the ones who will be posting on the board and we hope to make as many people happy with the finished result as possible. It does not matter if you are a board moderator, regular poster, or casual poster here. If you have a suggestion, please share it here with us :).

Your suggestions for possible pictures and colours will be taken into serious consideration, but in the interest of seeing every board receive the best customised look possible the final decision concerning how this board will be customised will be made by the members of the Graphics Team. This is because we want to make sure that the selected graphic and colours fit into the overall design scheme that we've established for Fan Forum.

For a full explanation of the message board customisation process, see this thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to send Mel, Chelle, or Kate a PM or ask the Team on the message board customisation thread.

Please leave this topped until a week or so after the board has been (re)customised.

Note: It usually takes approximately two weeks for us to finish making the new banner and the sooner we know what you want, the more we can work on it (though it can take a few months or so to set it up with the new colours on the board), so please let us know your suggestions as soon as possible.

When the Team have finished making the graphic I will close this thread until the graphic and colours get put up. It will then be re-opened so that you can share your thoughts about it.

basically ones that are in the blue-purple family because I think it's far enough away from our current palette to actually look different

Are you able to link to the full photoshoots those pictures are from? That way if any of the pictures don't work & there are alternatives it gives the team a little more to work with. We do always try to make favourites of the board work first though :)

We are able to use pictures which have other people in them. We cut him out so doesn't really matter what else is in the picture. It is just preferable if he is alone.

Most of those are from a few years ago as they were from when he was on OUAT. Does he have anything more recent?

Yeah that's what I was presuming. The most recent I found was mostly B/W images which isn't useful & not sure on that site what dates the shoots are really from since they don't say. He does have a few recent appearances however, so up to you if you're happy to go with the older photoshoots or a newer appearance. I don't think he's changed all that much to look at personally so don't think it'd be overly outdated if we went with the photoshoots.

If you did want to go with appearances these are some recent ones where I think we could get some usable pictures of him from:

Did you both have a preference of colours beyond wanting something different & blue/purple-blue toned? Most of those colour schemes have completely different feels/shades to them

Sadly, like Chris said he hasn't been going to many events, thanks to the pandemic and not have a show right now. Last time he promoted a project was 2019 for TRS

For me, I don't mind if it's an older photoshoot (like something from 2016/2017 and after) or a newer appearance. I don't really care for the photos he took at Cons with the fans, though. They're just too goofy for me. I much rather it be a photo that was taken while he was on stage being interviewed.

There is so much to choose from 2017 appearances, especially.
And a good amount of red carpet stuff from 2016

Um...I'm not really sure what goes artistically. I just know I don't think choosing a lighter blue color scheme makes sense since we already have it.

Let's start with what colours would you like to see here? For the colour scheme itself we would need a mixture of light & dark shades. Right now I would describe your colour scheme as being on the blue/blue-green side so changing to a blue/blue-purple colour scheme would change things up while still staying in the blue-tones if that is what you would like.

Looking at your colour scheme suggestions there are a few ocean-based colour schemes. They may have some similarities to what you have now, but most seem to be blue without leaning more toward green or purple. this one seems to be a blue/blue-purple choice so would be the most different while still blue. Up to you if you would want the yellow used. It would only be minimally.

For your three purple suggestions the first looks a bit too harsh to be usable. It might need some softer tones added in. The second one would be another blue/blue-purple option. While the third takes you all the way into purple.

Any of those that you suggested we could look at making work. Or you can look at others or we can work on designing your own colour scheme.

Normally I would say ewww to yellow, but I trust you guys to use it in a pretty way. You always know what you're doing.

Out of the palettes I put above, my favorite ones are
Color Palette #2182 especially the blues #004581 + #018abd
Color Palette #1874 especially the blues #101e5a + #5d80b6
and this one that starts getting more into the purple family Color Palette #3395 - I like all the colors featured there.

I am really excited to see what you guys come up with, cause its gonna be amazing no matter what...

Were there any colours you wanted to see Christina? Or did you have any thoughts on the colours Victoria suggested?

To be honest I really love the color choices that Vic has...

But will have a look later today or tomorrow to see if I can find some...

I had a little play around. We don't do dark boards anymore, but you do seem to be leaning more towards those shades. Then there were some similarities I could see in the fav colour schemes so I put together this:

Did you have a favourite/preferred photoshoot or are you happy for the team to go with any of the four choices? :) Since the second choice does come from multiple photoshoots I'd probably say it is best not to go with that one
