How do you tell the girl who needs a heart that she never really had one to begin with?

Thanks for starting this!

I really am not sure how I feel about her, tbh. :look:

thanks for starting
I'm kind of warming up to her but damn she comes off as so heartless at times.

I feel like she's kind of taking steps backwards when it comes to the mean girl status. I mean I liked her caring for Charlie by the end of the first episode with the way she wrote "Send pizza" on the window and then brought it closer so he can smell it and wake up. But then in the later episodes, with all her mean comments about Emma and her actually helping her escape correct testing and many other things make me question if she is going to grow out of it at this point.

Add me please. I really like her.

Welcome guys, I'm adding you, I love Kara, glad she got the pacemaker and that her Helen Keller moment was just temporary, her phrases cracks me up sometimes.

I was thinking the same but in this ep Kara mean streak was way up again, denouncing them as friends, calling the nurses bitches and other remarks. She has many layers to her still and I think her behavior may stems from absent parents, her mother was not even gonna stick around for the operation at first, the new guy seems to know how to read Kara well seeing her obnoxious behavior a cry for affection which he gave in his own snide way.

Yeah, exactly re: characterisation. She's very stereotypical mean girl to me so far and I don't really like that.

dancing in the rain 11-06-2014 06:15 PM

We're getting glimpses of her actually caring but it's still pretty rare and all the other mean moments are overshadowing them.

Sometimes she's a bit much, but I'm becoming invested in her character. That last scene with her mom was one of my favorites of the episode.

dancing in the rain 11-06-2014 11:45 PM

We've seen her most vulnerable when she's with her mom  You can see how much her relationship with her has affected the way Kara acts towards people.

Verbal Warning 11-07-2014 01:09 AM

yes, I think her family life may not be too stable, she does let her guard down a bit with her mom and if she wants to move up the donor list she'll have to tone it down

Too funny tho when she was blind trying to use the cell phone to check her condition and the phone was giving her window blind info :lmao:

splintered 11-07-2014 05:14 AM

Yeah, I loved the scene with her mom. I wish we'd see more of her vulnerability because it makes her ten times more likeable.

dancing in the rain 11-07-2014 03:47 PM

Agreed  It shows us a side of her that is actually tolerable in the long run.

And yeah the scene with the phone was funny

splintered 11-08-2014 05:49 AM

Maybe she'll start showing it more often in the future. Only Charlie has seen it so far.
