Hi everyone ,

The Fan Forum Graphics Team is in the process of (re)customising message boards and now it's your turn!

If you have any picture or colour suggestions please post them in this thread. Don't post (hotlink) the pictures, links to them are fine. Make sure that the pictures are of as high quality as possible and that the top of the head of the person in the picture isn't cropped off. We also like to use photoshoot images when possible, preferably individual pictures of each cast member. When suggesting colours please keep in mind that some colours will work better than others. The Team usually tries to avoid really vibrant and dark colours because we have found in the past that they are hard to look at for long periods of time. If you would like some help coming up with colour combinations we recommend checking out the design seeds website.

Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions for this as you are the ones who will be posting on the board and we hope to make as many people happy with the finished result as possible. It does not matter if you are a board moderator, regular poster, or casual poster here. If you have a suggestion, please share it here with us .

Your suggestions for possible pictures and colours will be taken into serious consideration, but in the interest of seeing every board receive the best customised look possible the final decision concerning how this board will be customised will be made by the members of the Graphics Team. This is because we want to make sure that the selected graphic and colours fit into the overall design scheme that we've established for Fan Forum.

For a full explanation of the message board customisation process, see this thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to send Rae or Mel a PM or ask the Team on the message board customisation thread.

Please leave this topped until a week or so after the board has been (re)customised.

Note: It usually takes less than two weeks for us to finish making the new banner and the sooner we know what you want, the more we can work on it (though it can take a few months or so to set it up with the new colours on the board), so please let us know your suggestions as soon as possible.

When the Team have made and voted on a winning graphic I will close this thread until the graphic and colours get put up. It will then be re-opened so that you can share your thoughts about it.

I have a few suggestions. Can we include an MMORPG? Either World of Warcraft or Guild Wars 2 or Elder Scrolls Online or Final Fantasy. Or a MOBA like League of Legends or DOTA 2/SMITE. Those seem like the big games of those genres. I think we should keep Mario, Sonic, and Donkey Kong. Maybe add Zelda? And what about Pokemon and Minecraft? Assassin's Creed? It's a pretty big hit with a movie coming out based on it! I haven't really played Assassin's though. Perhaps represent mobile gaming too with Candy Crush or Angry Birds.

Lots of possibilities.

Just like the last time we had this customisation, I brought up Zelda and Resident Evil also CoD style FPS games to be included - so we get some kids/casual gamer stuff such as Mario, Minecraft and such, some adult orientated games and a bit of RPG in there too.!

I don't know if this is a popular game here in terms of discussion, but the one that always comes to my mind is The Sims.

Even just the green controlling thing that appears on top of the characters would be a nice touch; but this is just a suggestion though.

What colours would you like to see here?

When you have decided which characters/games you would like represented it would also be useful if you could post links to pictures of them, especially as not all of the team will be familiar with all of the games or characters.

Elder Scrolls would be wonderful to see. I'd also like some gears of war. As for colors, I like the darker idea. Black Background with red colors would give a cool feel to it.

We avoid dark colours (black) or bright colours (red) as they can be very harsh and damaging to the eyesight. We've recently changed all board to get a lighter feel so no one needs to worry about not posting on certain boards anymore. I believe the only one left now is Twilight.

Perhaps you would prefer shades of grey which would be easier on the eyes than black? If you take a look at the design seeds website you may find a colour scheme you like

. We can still give a board a darker feel, but as Mel said we avoid using dark and bright colours in large areas as they are harsh on the eyes.

love the idea of grey. Just darker because a lot of gaming sites are darker, like Steam, and it just gives a better feel. Not to BE DARKER like heavy metal dark, just utilizing the darker palette.

How do the other posters feel about a darker palette? This is the kind of topic that really needs some input, as it's a "major" decision.

They did not post that in this thread. So how would we know.

Not to be rude, but we'd like to see all discussions and talk about this in this thread as it helps us out a lot to figure out what the posters are looking for, not just a "Oh they want that too."
