Red Dead Redemption Appreciation Thread

So they made max payne into a film and I think it was flop considering I heard the movie was inspired by a game!

But I'm sure if red dead redemption was made into a western it would be a wicked film

Underground Republik Blog Archive Best Western Movie this Decade Red Dead Redemption

any other games that could be movies?

Welcome to FF, ozziememz! I'm going to change the title of your thread so that all discussions about Red Dead Redemption can be included, okay? Thanks.

I have this game and I think it's just awesome. If it ever becomes a movie, I would definitely check it out.

I plan to buy this game soon but at the moment I need to fix the brakes on my working car (the other one needs its new Automatic Transmission and rear Suspension) That car is not running, the running car I got new tyres put on it now the brakes are all squeaking! So after i have fixed the brakes I will buy that game, not enough time to do that sort of thing at the moment.

Thanks for renaming this thread, was being a pain for me as I was trying to do the same thing and the other thread.

I love this game. I've been playing it for a while and it's great. I'm a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series but this is actually, for me, a lot more fun, because I really love the Wild Wild West and the romanticism of the era, and Rockstar did an awesome job capturing it. There's also so much to do. I've played about 15 hours and am maybe 1/3 of the way through, and there's still a ton of things to do besides the main story quests.

Sounds rather important. Hope things get straightened out soon.

The Angel, I agree with you. A really nice game. The ending surprised me though.

I haven't gotten that far. I've taken a little time out with RDR and have been playing Mass Effect 2, but eventually I'll get back to playing it and it shouldn't take me too long to finish it up.

Both are very awesome games, but very different. I played both and enjoyed each just as much as the other. I would say that RDR feels shorter than Mass Effect, if that changes anything for you.

I would just like to say that RDR is the game that has affected me most as a gamer, both emotionally and mentally. Ive never become so attached to a video-game character. They did such an amazing job developing John Marston, its incredible!

I wish I could play the game I love westerns and this game got my attention but sadly I only have a PS2 if only it would have been made for that system too. Right now I just cannot afford to buy a PS3 so I guess I won't be playing the game anytime soon. It looks like a very fun game too.

Buy an Xbox 360 - they do the same thing and are cheaper. No BluRay movies playback but it is a games-console. You can stream your BD discs from your computer to your tv via the wireless 360 connection so the BD drive is a non-issue to some extent. Also anything from you HDD(s) on your computers can stream through the 360 to your tv.

I just finished Fable II so I'm about to finally complete a playthrough of RDR. Can't wait to get back into it. It's such a fun game. But man, the hunting challenges really get more difficult once you get on in the game. I've heard you have to kill bears and mountain lions with a knife...ouch

Hey, I thought I'd revive the thread just to see if anyone else has played this game? I never got to do my playthrough but I might just have to do one pretty soon.

I did read though that L.A. Noire makes a reference to RDR in the game. I think you find the main character's hat in one of the trash cans. Keep an eye out for it.

Awesome, I'll definitely keep an eye out for it. I want to get L.A. Noire next week sometime after the GF leaves for her advanced training. I'll basically get two weeks to play whatever I want So I think I may also play some RDR if I have enough time (which, with two weekends worth of free time I'm pretty sure I will).

I will ^^
But how do you know ingame that it's the cowboy hat from the RDR-guy?
