Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen – not as long as the city needs The Arrow.

Meanwhile, Oliver begins to worry that he hasn’t heard from Thea, which forces Roy to tell him the truth about why she left town.
Ray Palmer pursues Felicity. In the flashback, Maseo tells Oliver that Amanda Waller has ordered his first kill.
As Oliver looks down the scope of the rifle, he sees the target is his best friend, Tommy.
Despite her promise to her sister, Laurel debates sharing a secret about Sara with Lance. .
3x03: Corto Maltese

OLIVER SEARCHES FOR THEA IN CORTO MALTESE WHILE DIGGLE TRACKS A.R.G.U.S. AGENT MARK SHAW — Oliver (Stephen Amell) decides it’s time for Thea (Willa Holland) to come back to Starling City, so he packs for Corto Maltese, where Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) has traced Thea’s whereabouts. Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) asks Diggle (David Ramsey) to go with Oliver because one of her field operatives, Mark Shaw (guest star David Cubitt), has gone dark in Corto Maltese and she’d like him to look into it. Feeling responsible for Thea’s departure, Roy (Colton Haynes) joins Oliver and Diggle on their journey. Shaw double-crosses Diggle, putting numerous A.R.G.U.S. agents, including Lyla, at risk. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) meets Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez), and Felicity adjusts to her new job. Stephen Surjik directed the episode written by Erik Oleson & Beth Schwartz (#303).

New stuff we got:

ETA. Lots of new stuff:

Quote:
Any Arrow scoop that is Roy Harper-related? –Andrew
Showrunner Marc Guggenheim says that Roy is more a member of Team Arrow than ever, and not just because he’s got a mod new Arsenal outfit. “He’s really present and a member of this group, so the trio becomes a quartet,” Guggenheim explains. “And that’s definitely true in Episode 6, [which] is a very Roy-centric episode. It speaks, in some ways, to Episode 212 ['Tremors,' in which Oliver trained his padawan]. I wouldn’t call it a sequel, but they’re thematically related.” All told, the EP says, “What you see in Season 3 is a much more mentor/mentee, master/apprentice relationship. You really see how Oliver is training this kid to be a hero in his own right.”

Any scoop on Arrow‘s Olicity? –Lindsay
The reason behind these angsty Episode 2 photos will be revealed much sooner than you think.

The Arrow season 3 premiere episode, “The Calm,” is less than a week from airing, so it’s obviously past time for some spoilers. What is coming for Oliver Queen and Team Arrow in the new season? Find out here.

Warning: It says “spoilers.” Don’t get mad if you find any here.

1. The Olicity kiss is real.

Yes, that much-spoiled kiss between Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) does occur in “The Calm.” There is much more I could spoil about this, but I won’t.

2. Ray Palmer is quite charming.

Considering we don’t know yet whether Dr. Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) is a good guy or a villain, this is sort of confusing. He does, however, make a great first impression on Felicity.

3. Oliver spends time in Hong Kong.

Not only does the season 3 premiere give a hint as to what Oliver’s life was like under A.R.G.U.S. control in Hong Kong, the episode also explains why he never managed to escape or even to call home.

4. No one is surprised that Oliver and Felicity go on a date.

It looks like the two have been rather friendly ever since we last saw them — Felicity even bought Oliver a houseplant. Nothing says love like a houseplant!

5. Two words: porcupine farts.

Sorry but that’s all you’re going to get on this subject before the Arrow season 3 premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 8pm on The CW.

New teasers:

Quote:
The CW series ARROW may be known as a dark tale of vengeance. But as the show embarks on its third season, it continues to weave in moments of levity and humorous one-liners to keep the audience from drowning in the darkness.

As a fun tease, we have collected a number of the soon to be iconic quotes from the Season 3 premiere episode, entitled “The Calm.” Let’s see if you can guess who says these fun little quotes:

QUOTE: “There is nothing more important to me than family.”

QUOTE: “A man cannot live by two names.”

QUOTE: “The second I looked at her, the whole universe changed.”

QUOTE: “Don’t ask me to say I don’t love you.”

QUOTE: “You stop seeing people. You see threats or targets.”

QUOTE: “Good speech. Hard to top that.”

QUOTE: “This is my crusade, which makes it my decision.”

QUOTE: “There is no yellow wire.”

QUOTE: “Believe it or not, I’ve had worst first dates.”

QUOTE: “Don’t look so surprised. I wasn’t gone that long.”

QUOTE: “We are not our masks and we need people in our lives who don’t wear one.”

QUOTE: “Now the only person you’re fooling is yourself.”

QUOTE: “I’ve already seen you shirtless. You are shirtless all the time.”

QUOTE: “You catch ‘em and I cook ‘em.”

QUOTE: “There is another slimy human who needs my attention.”

QUOTE: “You’re welcome” [in response to Starling City's reduced crime rate]

With those fun quotes rattling around your brain, have fun watching the Season 3 premiere of ARROW on Wednesday, October 6th at 8:00 p.m. on the CW. For those who want to submit their guesses sound off in the comments below.

Quote:
Arrow's heroic world expands with love interest, villains

Season 3 of CTV’s superhero series highlights its best bad guys and some romantic complications as ‘Olicity’ pairing sizzles.

Emily Bett Rickards, the Vancouver-born actress who co-stars on Arrow, likes knowing she’s part of something larger than herself.

“It’s cool to know that we’re part of a bigger universe that includes DC and its characters,” says Rickards, who plays Felicity Smoak in both Arrow and its spinoff series The Flash. “There’s something to be said about being immersed in and embraced by a wide world that’s already been created.”

IT technician Felicity is part of the vigilante team of Arrow, a.k.a. Oliver Queen (played by Toronto-born Stephen Amell), the TV version of the DC Comics character Green Arrow.
Season 3 debuts Wednesday at 8 p.m. on CTV, while The Flash — about another DC Comics hero, The Flash, a.k.a. Barry Allen — premiered Tuesday night, also on CTV.

For Rickards, 23, being cast to work in her hometown as a series regular has been a dream come true, particularly since she was initially hired for a one-episode guest role.
Rickards is only a few years removed from her onscreen debut in a Nickelback video.
“That was the first time I was ever on set. I was so nervous, but it was so much fun,” recalls Rickards, who attended the Vancouver Film School. “Getting the regular job as Felicity was a slow plant that grew and it’s now such a gift, and I have a great time playing her.”

“The stunts are so crazy and fantastic, I’ve never seen anything like it,” she adds. “So lots of conflict and action, with the introduction of exciting new characters, creepy villains. Our goal is always to make the new season better than the season before. For people who’ve already fallen in love with the story, they will feel emboldened.”
Amell, 33, adds his praise for the new season.

“A superhero show is only as good as the main villain. The reason why The Dark Knight movie was so good was because of Heath Ledger as the Joker. If you like some of the enemies Batman has fought, you’re really going to like Arrow’s new season.”
One of Arrow’s ongoing storylines, which drives fans into online paroxysms, is the budding romance between Oliver and Felicity, dubbed “Olicity.” Last season, Arrow told Felicity he loved her, but it turned out to be a fakeout to ensnare villain Slade. Or was it?
As the new season begins, things have quieted down in Starling City thanks to Arrow’s vigilante team, so Oliver asks Felicity out on a date. Rickards says it’s a monumental moment for Olicity.

“It’s a pivotal scene for them as a possible couple. They’re at dinner and are speculating where it could go. But it lasts for about a second, this wonderment, because then something drastic happens. Fans had been waiting for this and it’s a hopeful scene. But hope in Starling City always seems to get torn down.”

Amell adds, “Early last season, Oliver tells Felicity that because of what they do, he doesn’t think he can really be with anybody that he cares about. In Oliver’s flashbacks, all his humanity is stripped away. Now Season 3 is about how much of his humanity does he want back? Does he want to love somebody or be a hero? Does he want to get back his company? So what happened with Felicity will be tackled early on.”

We can hear the groans out there, but Rickards is excited about developing Felicity’s backstory more, explaining, “We get to see her in her college years and meet her mother. I was stoked filming the flashback and hope the fans have a blast, too.”

It's finally here!

After months of missing our favorite Starling City crime-fighters, and watching the series' fantastic spinoff, the highly anticipated third season of Arrow premieres tonight, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. on The CW. We’ve already seen the mind-blowing first episode back (subtle brag intended) and we nearly passed out from awesome-overload!

To help get you prepared for all the twists, turns, oohs and aaahs, we've jotted down eight things that you absolutely need to know before tuning in to the new season...

PICS: Get Your Arrow Fix With This Exclusive Season 3 Spoiler!

1. So Much Adrenaline-Pumping Action: There's only one way we can describe the season three premiere: HOLY $#%@! The opening scene is absolutely phenomenal and the highs-stakes action will sooth your Arrow-loving hearts. It's also incredible to see how fantastic our four crime-fighters — Oliver, Roy, Diggle and Felicity — work together.

"One of the fun things about season three is we really get to play with [this new team dynamic]." Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed to ETonline and a small group of reporters. "You really feel like Roy (Colton Haynes) is a part of Team Arrow, that it's more than just wearing a costume, that he's really present and a member of this group, that the trio becomes a quartet."

2. Prepare to Feel ALL the Olicity Feels: "Oh god, I've been teasing [Olicity fans] mercilessly on Twitter," Guggenheim giggled. Now ETonline can confirm that those tortured Olicity fans will get a huge, kiss-filled payoff in tonight's season three premiere. Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) will take their relationship to the next step with a dinner date that is filled with everything that makes this couple so ship-worthy: Awkward oversharing, longing glances, sexual tension, and all-around perfection.

"I like to say it's an explosive first date," The EP revealed with a knowing smile. "I think it's so hard to tease it without spoiling it, but I'm very happy with the circumstances under which they have their first kiss. I hope it's unexpected. I hope it plays as emotional." Trust us—you'll laugh, you'll cry, and above all, you'll swoon.

4. It's A Fresh Start: If you know anyone who doesn't watch Arrow, you need to do two things immediately: 1) Question why the heck they are a part of your life because they clearly have terrible taste in television. 2) Get them to hop on the Arrow bandwagon ASAP because tonight's season three premiere is the perfect time to start.

"I feel like this episode's a really good jumping-off point for new viewers," Guggenheim said. "We sort of closed a chapter at the end of season two, and this is a brand new opening. I don't really think there's anything you really need to know coming into it. It's pretty new-viewer friendly. That wasn't necessarily by design, it just happened to work out that way because of the story we were telling."

3. Introducing Daddy Diggle: What's better than the Diggle/Oliver bromance scenes that we love oh-so much? How about seeing Diggle (David Ramsey) embrace his destiny as a dad. His relationship with Lyla (Audrey Anderson) has never been more adorable and as he prepares for his Diggle-to-Dad name change, Oliver will make a drastic decision that will forever alter the dynamics of the group.

5. Meet the New Charismatic Character: Comic book fans know and love Ray Palmer as The Atom, and tonight Arrow fans will finally be introduced to the ridiculously charming character, played by Superman Return's Brandon Routh. Although we hate to say it, Ray's scenes with Felicity are positively wonderful, and their witty banter creates some of the best lines in Arrow history. (Porcupine farts. That's all we'll say.) However if you're expecting Ray's size to shrink in Starling City—think again. "We have plans for Ray that don't involve shrinking, but our plans for Ray are actually really cool," Guggenheim teased.

6. The Flashbacks Are Awesome Again: Alright, who else is ready for a break from all those Island flashbacks? (You should all be feverishly raising your hands by now) Well you're in luck because it's time to explore a new chapter from Oliver's lost years—and they're ridiculously crazy! In the season two finale, fans discovered that Oliver was taken away from the island and delivered to Hong Kong, and now you'll get a deeper peak into how our hero eventually perfected his Mandarin.

PICS: Check Out Our Reviews on All the New Fall Shows!

7. Oliver Gets an Official Partner-in-Crime: For those who have been itching to see Roy fully embrace his destiny as Arsenal, get ready. "I think what you see in season three is much more a mentor/mentee, master/apprentice kind of relationship," the showrunner explained. "You really see how Oliver is training this kid to be a hero in his own right." However, keep in mind that Roy is most definitely not just a side-kick. In fact, there is a serious "Awww!" moment in tonight's premiere in which Oliver defines exactly what Roy should be known as.

8. A Jaw-Dropping, Can't-Miss Ending: We're about to be super vague about this one (and for good reason!) but we need to stress the importance of watching the entire episode. Something BIG will happen in the final minute of tonight's season three premiere, and it will shock Arrow fans to the core. After you stop hyperventilating, make sure check back to ETonline immediately after the episode to find out why this happens and what it means for our action-packed drama moving forward.

Season three of Arrow premieres tonight at 8 p.m. on The CW

“The Magician” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

NYSSA RETURNS TO STARLING CITY, RA’S AL GHUL MAKES HIS ENTRANCE — A furious Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law) confronts Oliver (Stephen Amell) about Sara. When Oliver learns Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) is alive, he suspects Merlyn killed Sara. Oliver and Nyssa join forces and go after the Dark Archer, intent on bringing Sara’s killer to justice. Laurel (Katie Cassidy) keeps her distance from Nyssa, as she blames her sister’s death on her involvement with the League of Assassins. Meanwhile, Oliver and Roy (Colton Haynes) work on repairing their respective relationships with Thea (Willa Holland), who has returned home. Nyssa discusses Oliver with her father, Ra’s al Ghul (guest star Matt Nable). John Behring directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Marc Guggenheim (#304). Original airdate 10/29/2014.
CW PRIMETIME LISTINGS FOR THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 27, 2014 | Spoilers

This is what I was expecting and hoping for after Sara's death.

I don't blame Laurel feeling that way at all.

Glad that Thea is back and can't wait to see how it played out between them that she was willing to come back. I hope it's not some sort of trick with Malcolm.

First off, Tommy Merlyn is back. Collin Donnell popped up halfway throughout the panel and told us that Tommy Merlyn will be back this week as part of the Hong Kong flashbacks.

The panel started with Stephen talking about the loss of the Canary at the end of Season 3 Episode 1 and more hints that Laurel may soon take up the mantle.

We also learned that Arrow will meet up with Malcolm Merlyn the following week. The show will continue to build up through the first 9 episodes, with the fall finale ending on a “literal cliffhanger”. According to Amell, that episode features the longest fight scene they have had on the show, a sword fight for which Oliver is shirtless the entire time (that announcement was greeted by lots of cheers from the women of the audience.)

When asked about the increase in the number of heroes around Starling City, Stephen said that the number of heroes would be important in the resolution of Season 3.

He also said that, much to his chagrin, the first part of the crossover would be called “Flash vs. The Arrow”. The second part will be “The Brave and the Bold”.
