Read the books first or watch the series?

I only discovered Outlander the TV series last year and once I'd finished watching the eagerly awaited third season I felt a bit at a loss so decided to start reading the books. Initially, I was pleased I'd done it that way round because I could 'see' the characters in the books and identify them with the actors that played them. However, I have since come across a lot of differences between the two, particularly in the third book Voyager and I can't decide whether to wait for Season 4 to be released and then get the next book or just carry on reading the rest of the series. Realistically though, can I wait that long in the Outlander wilderness? :impatient:

Each person is different, but as soon as I've seen the first season, I had to read the consequent books to know what happens next.

I have merged this into the book discussion of book 3, maybe someone can help guide you on whether starting book 4 is a good move for someone who enjoys the show more.

I think we all enjoy the show more? In general.

I find the books better than the show at the moment, but as the books go on they tend to get boring and I don't have the show of the boring books yet to say.

I don't even know what my favourite bit is in this book.
