In Lord John and the Plague of Zombies: Lord John Grey is posted to Jamaica to assist the Governor as he faces a most unusual kind of uprising among the colony's slave population.

In The Space Between: Jamie Fraser's step-daughter Joan is on her way to an abbey in Paris to become a nun - but when she meets the Comte St Germain, a wealthy French aristocrat rumoured to to deal in the occult - she discovers her destiny lies on a quite different path.

In The Custom of the Army: Lord John Grey is summoned as a witness in a court martial in the wilds of Acadia, only to find himself playing a crucial role in the Battle of Quebec.

In A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows: a WW2 Spitfire pilot called Jerry MacKenzie crashes near a stone circle and wakes up in the eighteenth century. Can the strange man he meets - who impossibly seems to know him - help him return to his wife and baby son before a terrible fate overtakes them?

Have you heard of the book " Virgins"? It's a story about Jamie and Ian. Thinking of ordering it. The wait on Season 3 is excruciating! I need a fix, lol.

I've recently been turned on to audio books since I got an Amazon Echo for Christmas. I can go about my daily chores and do things around the house while listening.

I usually can't stand the voice or the pace of audio books

At first I didn't like it, but very quickly fell in love with Davina Porters narration. You can adjust the pace to your liking.

I might try it, but I'm afraid it's not my thing, mainly because reading is always faster than reading out loud.

Donna723 01-21-2017 01:44 PM

Ha! Well I finished book 4 in 4 days.

wickedrum 01-21-2017 01:56 PM

I did them at around that speed as well when I read them.

I'm reading it now. :) Jaimie and Ian are mercenaries in France. It's set prior to Outlander.

So Trail of Fire is just a compilation of previously published short stories? Or at least I'm pretty sure that I've read all of those.

Is Virgins a good read?

sourburst 01-22-2017 04:45 PM

Yes this book, Diana placed the short stories into one paperback novel. Previously only able to get as an ebook. I've never heard of the one you're reading though Chris? Is it on Goodreads? I'm interested to learn more about these short stories as I only found out about them 2 days ago

I didn't know you were such a fan Chris!

Chris 01-24-2017 08:39 AM

Yes, I'm a fan. My copies Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber are paperbacks, but the rest are hardcovers.

It is. It gives some nice backstory about Jaimie & Ian's friendship.

I also enjoyed A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows. I'm not a big fan of the Lord John Grey stories.
