Tobias is pretty darn phenomenal as Frank & Black Jack Randall (BJR)...I wonder how things will go in season 2....but I'll not talk about that too much here.
I hope he gets some recognition for his acting of BJR - a truly disturbed man. I really am torn about how I feel towards Frank, in the books. I really have no feelings toward him. Don't they say something like the only thing worse than hate or dislike is indifference, because then you really show no feeling either way.  hmmBut show Frank, I have mixed feelings. He is much more developed than book Frank or at least so far is more developed (I have just finish DIA - haven't read Voyager yet) Frank was barely in the Outlander book...and he's a more active part in the show - so it makes sense that I have some feelings for him. They are not negative feelings really, but I prefer Claire with Jamie. The last episode (episode 8's)) scene at Craigh Na Dun. was probably the most I've felt for him. I guess sad would describe it best. He does love Claire, but earlier in the episode, before he stopped at Craigh Na Dun and he was just leaving. I thought "He's given up on her!" And I was disappointed a little in that. But since he went to the standing stones...perhaps he had not really given up after all?! __________________

Add me, please! I am noticing while reading the first book that he's been in the series much more than the books.
I like him in the series and him and I are definitely kindred spirits in the aspect of being obsessed with genealogy. While reading the books and hearing Claire's reaction to his research, it reminded to feel sorry for my husband because I go on and on and on about it all the time!  |
