BARRY ALLEN ♥ IRIS WEST
Welcome to the 37th appreciation thread.

Credit

Barry Allen is the superhero, The Flash. Iris West is an investigative reporter. Best friends, since the age of 11. They have always loved and supported one another.
Since they met, Barry harbored feelings for Iris, " i l o v e d y o u before I even knew what the word love meant." Because of his fears, Barry never told Iris how he felt until it was seemingly too late. However, Iris too was harboring feelings for Barry upon his revelation, "I have not been able to stop t h i n k i n g about you."
The course of true love never runs smoothly, Barry and Iris have managed to find each other on different earths, grapple against the Speedforce and everything that has been thrown at them.
Nearing the end of Season 2, Iris once again confesses her feelings for Barry, "You've always had someone to come h o m e to...me.
Finally, making it official in Season 3, Barry and Iris are "crazy stupid in love", however the villains of The Flash always loom in the shadows. The couple who are destined to be together will prevail.

So is the question, whether or not we would like to see Iris and Barry have twins? Sure.

I'm not that familiar with the comic and most of you are. So what is the significance of the twins?

Here's what I know: The twins (Dawn and Don) are known as the Tornado Twins. Both Speedsters. They've been subtly foreshadowed in Flashpoint (3x01) when Barry was battling two twin funnels because the twins disguise themselves by spinning rapidly, so that they resemble two tornadoes.

However, Bart Allen (Don Allen's son), is more well known in the comic world, he's an official Flash, also known as Impulse. Comic fans would be most happy to see him.

So the same way Wally is Iris' cousin in the comics but they made him her brother in the show. Fans believe they'll make Bart their son not grandson because he's more popular.

Either way Barry and Iris have an amazing family tree.

That they do! Thanks for the info. I know a lot about Superman but little else. This is still new to me. But I'm enjoying the ride. If I have to have a first Barry and Iris, I couldn't have picked a better one to start with.

For me, I would love to see them start a family but not till season five. I want to see them married and enjoy that first. Just the two of them. But if it were to happen, I wouldn't hate it.

Did anyone watch Charmed? I loved it when Piper had Wyatt. It just added to the richness of the story.

I didn't watch Charmed but I can imagine. If it's done right, I can see it adding a lot to the story.

I'm not sure they can write for babies on this show but at this point I'd like them to try. I gave up on Iris having the journalism arc she deserves so I'd rather see her deal with speedster babies than be bored to death by the STAR Labs group scenes. It could be cute.

I want them to keep Bart as the grandson who visits them from the future and the twins as their children.

This show struggles on so many levels: POC, women, individual storylines outside of Barry etc. The list goes on! Thank goodness for Netflix Marvel superhero shows lol.

They should give it a try in later seasons. I'm open.
