Thanks for the new thread!
 Don't know if this has already been discussed in here already, but am watching S2 of the Flash and it just seems so OOC that Barry wouldn't care about his friends in S3. I mean, what do you guys think, is it believable that the pain of loss of both his mother and father would warrant him changing from a guy who cares about his friends and family to being so tunnel vision? Just pondering if maybe the show sorta jumped the shark with him last season. Since it's my first post in the Barry thread feel like adding disclaimer: I've always loved Barry Allen, which is why it bothers me so. |

Flashpoint was a huge mistake on Barry's part. He was very lost after Henry's death and it was also quite plot driven because they needed a finale cliffhanger to get them to Flashpoint.
To be fair to Barry, it wasn't intentional. He was surprised to find Dante dead, Caitlin with powers and Iris/Joe at odds. I wouldn't go as far to say it was OOC because he was almost willing to do the exact same thing end of S1 but with their permission that time. __________________

I love Barry but he can be selfish and narrow-minded. He's a flawed character. In S2 he was pretty self-absorbed and made Ronnie's and Eddie's deaths all about him when Caitlin and Iris were the ones who lost their SOs. He even risked Cisco being erased from existence just to catch his mom's murderer. What I didn't like about S3 (and I blame this more on the shows formulaic writing than on Barry or the team) is that changing the headlines or proposing was not gonna save Iris' life or even prevent Caitlin from turning into Killer Frost. They should have focused on Savitar and his acolytes. Basically, their plan sucked for the majority of the season. __________________
