Bruce (8 yrs old): In my garden.

(Rachel finds out that Bruce had planned to shoot Joe Chill and slaps him twice.)
Rachel: Your father would be ashamed of you.

Rachel (to Bruce): Deep down you may still be that same great kid you used to be. But it's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you.

Rachel: Wait! You could die. At least tell me your name.
Bruce: It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.
Rachel: (realizing) Bruce?
(Batman turns and leaps off the roof)

Rachel: I never stopped thinking about you. About us. And when I heard you were back, I-I started to hope. (Rachel kisses Bruce) But then I found out about your mask.
Bruce: Batman's just a symbol, Rachel.
Rachel: (Rachel touches Bruce's face) No, this is your mask. Your real face is the one that criminals now fear. The man I loved - the man who vanished - he never came back at all. But maybe he's still out there, somewhere. Maybe some day, when Gotham no longer needs Batman, I'll see him again.
