I like it. Sounds like a song that might go with Deacon's character on the show.

Really like it. Is it possible it could be used in the show? He wouldn't be already singing it in concert if so? Not sure how it works.

He writes a lot of Deacon inspired songs. So just because they sound like they could be used on the show doesn't mean they're for the show. Like he had that one that he performed with Jaida Dreyer around the time they filmed 315 and we were wondering if it was going to be the DR song for the Opry. It wasn't
They don't usually perform show songs before they air but it has happened. Besides Deacon could be dead and therefore not singing anything __________________

Why would they need a voice over actor? Curious.

After rewatching 1x09 for this week's rewatch thread, I've got a question about Vince's storyline. In 1x09, Carmen says Vince's accident happened 14 years ago. But in 1x15, in the scene with Gunnar, Deacon says "I hung on to it for years and years. I wouldn't let it go, and it made me dark, and it made me lose anything I ever cared about. Made me lose the only woman I ever loved." It implies it happened in the first years he was dating Rayna. Because "14 years ago", at this point he had already lost Rayna and he got sober not long after that, so it would make no sense. |

Honestly the timelines on this show have never ever made sense. But 14 years ago he still would have been with Rayna. At the beginning of the series she had been married to Teddy for 12 years, in 111 he says he's been sober 12 years and in the DR scene he says it's not 12 years ago... The whole Vince thing never made a ton of sense... a couple vague references in a couple episodes and then never mentioned again

Yeah, but I think it's a big difference. Whatever.

I've always taken it as Vince died in the last couple years of when DR were together and how he handled that (or rather didn't) was part of what led to her actually leaving... but again this show is awful with vague backstory references that are often wildly inconsistent

It's the version I would like better too. And if we ignore the "for years and years", it kind of works.

I can't piece together a version that does more than just kinda work... especially since the only things we have to go on are either from some chick with her own vague history with Deacon that's never been mentioned again and one line to Gunnar
