{NASHVILLE CANCELLED} Where are you all going?

I don't know if it's appropriate to post a separate thread for this but I feel like it could be a good idea for our little "family."

Barring a miracle, this show will end after this season. Given the way it goes out, I'm expecting the forum to soon fall into inactivity. I am suspecting that most posters, after the appropriate "grief period", will not post here much if ever again.

So, where are you going? Where will we be able to find our friends after this is over?

As for me:

I will keep being involved in the Gotham fandom, a crazy Batcat fanboy and writing for that show over at Doux Reviews: Gotham. I will keep following The Americans and I am looking forward to the final season of Rectify, to premiere in the fall. I may also be somewhat active in the Lucifer forum.

My tumblr username is Kathemy, you will always be able to find me there. My pen name is Thomas Ijon Tichy.

So, what about you?

I don't think this thread is inappropriate at all. Actually, I like it. I agree that we have become a little family of sorts and beyond losing the show, we will inevitably lose each other as well. Nature of the beast unfortunately. I will continue to come here for some time. Mostly for comfort as I work through my grief of losing this great show. I really hope the show gets picked up by Hulu or someone else even though I realize that is a very long shot and the odds of it happening are very slim. I'm really outraged at ABC for giving us fans false hope. If they knew they were going to cancel it then they should have just done so and allowed Lionsgate more time to shop it around. Water under the bridge I know. I'm even more outraged at Dee and the writers for driving this great show into the ground. This show has such potential and it was completely squandered with atrocious storytelling. There was no need of it. The fact that next season would have been so much better and we'll never get to see it guts me. For now, I feel somewhat adrift. There is no point investing in any TV show especially an American one. American TV has become such senseless drivel that it is actually painful for me to watch. I find myself drawn more and more to British TV which actually expects the audience to come to the party with a functioning brain. American TV expects the audience to be as dumb as a fence post and writes at that level. I just can't.

Sorry for the very long winded answer to your question. Here for now, possibly continuing to write some Will/Kevin fiction. Beyond that...not sure.

Well, it depends on what you're watching. Most network television, yes, is not that smartly written, but now there are a lot of programs on channels like AMC, FX, HBO, and Showtime, and on platforms like Netfix and Amazon that are very well written. Transparent and VEEP are two of my favorite shows that I think are very well done.

Rectify is one of the smartest shows I've ever seen, and it airs on Sundance TV. Also Gotham is a really clever show - people just don't expect it to be clever because of its cartoon wrapping, but if you give it time to think about it you'll find thousands of aspects in it.

I haven't seen Transparent or VEEP, I'll look into them.

Staying here for now. Watching Grey's on Netflix so I can hopefully watch the new season when it comes out.

Nashville has my heart, and I'll hopefully be here for a while, just like I was for Glee.

Thanks for this thread !

The news about the cancellation really caught me off guard. Nashville is the only show I watch at the moment, so I don't know if I will find something new. Time will tell, I guess, but right now I'm just mourning the death of this great show.
I wish we would've gotten at least half a season 5 to wrap up all the storylines properly, but the chances that it gets picked up by another network are virtually zero. I would be the happiest girl in the world if it did, but honestly, I think that's it for Nashville.

I will miss this board, the speculation and discussion ! It's been a great time with y'all

This is pretty much me right now too. I've never had a show get cancelled on me before. Not one that I was incredibly invested in. They've all run their course and ended with forewarning and time for closure.

Right now I'm definitely grieving. I feel like I've lost a dear friend. I can't even imagine what it will be like to not have it on our screens every week, and to not see the cast interaction with the fans.

I've become really jaded with most tv lately. There's very little that I watch except Nashville. And given how displaced I feel with its cancellation (really such an odd and unsettling feeling), I'm likely to stay away from watching any new drama shows for quite some time (lest this happen again).

The best I can hope for right now is that there's an appropriate amount in closure and potential for happiness with the storylines - so that we can all have a little closure. Knowing that these characters that we love will be ok in their future lives...

I hate to see the show gone. I would love it if some other network would pick it up and give it a proper ending, but I'm one that, if they didn't film it in Nashville, would rather they didn't at all. It's a nice thought to think they might film in Atlanta or LA, but it sure wouldn't be the same.

I don't watch a lot of TV and watched this mostly because it was about my hometown. It was sad to see how things really ran off the rails as the seasons progressed. This season, in particular, was a real hot mess.

I won't replace it in the fall, not so much because I can't see myself watching something else, but I'd rather take the time and put it into other endeavors.

I do hope those who write fan fiction about the show keep it up. There are some really outstanding stories by several really good writers and I hope we'll see more of what's next for our favorites, even if it's just in our imaginations.

I don't think the show has ever been as good as its first season, and believed it would happen in the near future. Just not this near! Why can't they give it another half season or so to wrap up the storylines? Who knows, maybe the audience would pick up some. Seems that the head honcos at ABC are more ruthless and are just getting rid of most of the shows which have problems of any kind. It's not fair to the audience or cast and crew when it happens so suddenly like this. What makes it worse is that I believe that ABC meddled a lot in this show and gave its creators a lot of grief, trying to make it soapier, and indeed they advertised it as such. While I like a little soap, I didn't watch it at first because the ads made it sound too sudsy and lightweight. I think that if they had just let the artists do their work they would have had a lot less problems, made consistently better TV, and had a larger audience.

I found this on Netflix and bingewatched the entire thing - I think it's just two seasons on there. I LOVE that show. Just stumbled upon it and decided to watch and got hooked.

For now, I'm numbing my pain by catching up on American Horror Story. I don't watch very many network shows and none of them with the same level of obsession as Nashville.

Thank you. I'm going to have to check out Gotham again. It's one of my sister's favorites. I liked it but I fell off someplace.
