I got some bad news, there’s a huge rumor going around that my store is going to close. Apparently we’ve been bought out by a fellow local gas station. At first I assumed the whole company but the more and more I think of it the more and more I think it’s just my store. Our business has gone down, we have yet to get a remodel and we have every gas station except for the one who bought us out apparently in the area where I work. I won’t lie, I’m at a loss. I love my job, my coworkers etc. I don’t want to assume and quit or look for another job but I also don’t want to walk in and be told we’re closed and I’m jobless.

Sandy, that's awful. I can't even imagine... maybe you guys are offered jobs at one of the other gas stations?
It's weird that you're in a limbo... would your manager not tell you immediately once he gets official word?

No idea, he heard it as a rumor too and our higher ups haven't answered the question. So right now still no official word but we do have someone possibly two people putting in their two week notices so I'm assuming something will have to be said soon before we all do quit.

Aw thanks, Kathrin It's nice being back. I used to spend so much time on here and then I just kind of stopped posting. Unfortunately a lot of boards that I used to mod/post on have closed, but I'm really glad this one is still doing well.
