The Post-Office [Off-Topic] #24: We're a chatty bunch!
The Post Office [Off-Topic] #24 It was time for a new one, so here you go... Miranda, that's fantastic news about your dad getting vaccinated I really hope that time will pass fast until the beginning of May and his second shot. I hope he didn't have side effect? How is your dad doing in general? How is the therapy going and how does he get along? Marilyn, that is sooo horrible about the neighborhood from your boss. I would be sooo scared but I guess you're right. It just wasn't time to get scared until it was over. __________________

TFTNT!
My dad didn't have any side effects from his vaccination so that is really great! and in general.. he is doing okay. He is very very tired and has little to no energy but he hasn't been sick at all and we are very happy about that but the more chemo he will get, the sicker he will get I think. I hope not of course but I think it will. __________________

That's good news so far about your dad, Miranda How many rounds of chemo did he have so far? I really keep crossing fingers that he won't suffer worse side effects.
So my vacation week is almost over... Last day off today because it's a holiday and tomorrow it's work again During our vacation we prepared the whole garden for summer. I loved that so much although it was very exhausting... I was sooo tired and my muscles were so sore because during winter you don't do anything at all that comes close to being as exhausting as this stuff. __________________

Marilyn, I didn't miss work at all either.
First of all, there are still a lot of berry bushes in my garden that I can't wait to see blossom and to eat as soon as the berries are ripe. Then we got a mini blum tree for Easter and I know exactly where it will be planted. We for sure will get new strawberry plants soon, plant salat and start put the potatoes in the dirt to start growing But it's still two to three weeks away. Then there will be peppers, tomatoes, zucchini and stuff like that I'll plant... Oh, not to forget onions. We just used the last from last year up. We got really far with them and I love it. Btw, talking about onions... Do you have onion powder in your kitchen as well? I'm still fascinated that there is something like that in the US because here you simply use fresh onions. I don't even know if there's something like onion powder available here in stores __________________

Thanks Marilyn.
My dad had one round of chemo and the second one will start on Thursday Kris. I really hope he won't have too many side-effects either. __________________

Me too miranda!
What’s a Blum tree? Yes we have onion powder and something called minced onions. Both are bought in containers. Lol We always had a garden growing up and had all kinds of vetatables. It wasn’t until I got to college that I realized you could buy vegetables in a can from a grocery store. __________________

The only thing I need to do now is fixing my garden. I have a little bit to put some plants in but it's pretty hard for me which ones I can put in because the sun is on my garden the entire day so I need good plants/flowers that can handle the heat of the sun.

Miranda, I'll cross fingers for you dad I really hope the side effects won't be too bad.
Oh damn, I meant a plum tree Marilyn, why would somebody buy onion powder instead of real onions? It's something I think soooo crazy You can buy real onions in the grocery store as well. Why use that powder? Miranda, believe me, we've got the same problem with the garden and the sun. There are definitely a bunch of plants you can put in there I can't wait to see what you come up with Oh, and if you like tomatoes, it's a great place for tomatoes as well because the more sun the better. You just need to make sure to water them a lot. Same with strawberries for example __________________

A plum tree! Rotflmao. I never even thought that was a typo!
We buy onion powder because we are lazy americans. But we use real onions here at my house and we just started using real garlic instead of garlic powder. So my blueberries came back this year. I’m excited. I plan to get some tomatoes again as well as bell peppers and maybe turnip greens. __________________

Yes, it was a typo I had to laugh when I saw it.
I'm glad to hear though that you use real onions and garlic as well. It's a lot more healthy I'm happy to hear that. We planted garlic in the garden a week ago... I'm really curious if we'll be successful and able to harvest our first garlic in late summer/autumn That sounds like a good plan, Marilyn I can't wait to hear about your plants and how they grow My blueberries are coming back as well although one of the two bushes don't look too good. It was just damn cold here this winter... About -20 degrees Celsius. That's damn hard for plants. __________________

I am not going to plant vegetables or fruits cause the piece I can plant things in is so very small and I just want plants in there that I have to water and do nothing else about it.

Okay, get it But like I said, there are plenty of plants that are really well growing in a super sunny place.

Miranda do you have houseplants or just outdoors?
I know what you mean about the cold. I think my hibiscus died. Our winter was really cold. A lot colder than usual. And I just read that a hibiscus is tropical. Who knew? __________________
