Samar Navabi is a Mossad operative who has had past interactions with Raymond Reddington. With the death of Meera Malik, she is assigned by Deputy Director Cooper to the task force as an investigative agent and Mossad liaison. She is an Iranian-born Baloch, who was radicalized and recruited by Mossad because of the mistreatment and killing of her parents by the Iranian regime. Samar's past is revealed and how she witnessed the death of her parents. She has an emotional reunion with her brother, Shahin, who was believed to have died years earlier in a bombing. However, Samar soon discovers that her brother is not who she believes him to be, and is in the terrorist she had spent years hunting. She helps her former partner Levi destroy important documents, but she is captured by her brother and taken to the harbor, where Reddington intercepts them, freeing Samar and capturing Shahin. Ressler fires Samar from the task force when she secretly helps Liz locate Reddington after he is kidnapped. She then joins Reddington and helps him carry out his plan to exonerate Liz. After Liz is released, Samar rejoins the task force.

Okay... I guess that makes sense since the episode focuses on Tom's death rather than the other characters.

Whenever I look at the OP it reminds me of the episode with her brother.

It was so nice to see because honestly they were a nice couple, too.

But Aram was just the better match

I really don't know how he was able to do that either... Do you think Samar would have done the same if their roles were reversed?

Maybe Samar at the beginning. But not the Samar she came to be. Although even at the beginning I think she was more loyal to people she cared for than the Mossad.

I think she would have done the same tbh... I think she even got that he did it and why. I bet they all knew about the process, knew that every risk had to be eliminated and with her having that job she once told Liz that she needs to be ready to take the consequences for her actions. I think Samar would have been very aware of it and the consequences it would mean for her.

Yeah, I know that I could be wrong but she always was a woman who knew what her calling was and she knew very well that risking to lack information would or could endanger everyone on her team (no matter if Mossad or the task force). Some information in the wrong hands could be fatal... I get that to that point, really. And I think she was a person who would have gotten it, too and who would have done what was necessary there. It's the only way to make sure forever that these information are kept secret.

I think she understood as well even though she was fighting to stay alive. And I can see her struggling if she was the one who had to do the killing
