I hope that we learn more about what happened the day that Red disappeared and became a criminal. They have never really said what drove him to a life of crime. I know it has something to do with his family but I want more details.

Me too. Plus I want to know what his whole agenda is and why he surrendered to the CIA in the first place.

I want to know what is the real reason he wanted and trusts Liz so much.

I feel like he must have been double-crossed or something, causing him to turn on his country. Or, once his family was killed, maybe he figured he tried living by the rules and look where it got him, so why not try going the other way.

If Diane knew what happened to Red's family, I'm thinking it could very well have been a government hit on his family (was probably meant for him but because he wasn't there they took his wife and daughter instead) and likely not the work of a random act of violence. The guy (who's name I forget, but he was in the Anslo Garrick episode) said something about Red keeping a secret of theirs, maybe he's been keeping this secret for over 20 years and that's why his family was killed, because he wouldn't give it up?

I don't know, I could literally theorize about this show all day and still end up talking in circles, haha. And that's what I ultimately love about this show. I actually hope that we don't find out the real truth about the connection between Red & Liz for a long time because, even though it drives me nearly insane not knowing, that would take out so much of what draws me in to this show.
Of course, that being said, Spader could make a television series about watching paint dry and I would still tune in every week :P

I wouldn't say it's safe to cross ANYTHING out. But, there is good evidence to believe that it's true. He said he's not, and he said he's never lied to her, but I wouldn't bank on that being the ultimate truth. There's always something he isn't telling her.

I have so many theories floating around in my head, if any of them actually came to be true I probably would have forgotten that I thought of it in the first place

Interview with James

Quote:

James Spader:

"We do learn more about his past as the show develops," he revealed. "As you’re going into the end of this season, you start to learn more about him. And I think it relates to what I love about playing about him is that I still at this point, even after finishing 22 episodes of the show, I’m still so hungry to find out more, and I still don’t know a lot.”

I kinda love that whenever we find out something, it just raises more questions. Looking forward to delving a but more into Red though.
