I was really disappointed about it but when the episode order was switched, I was kind of sure that we wouldn't get any scene between these two. Sadly.
I won't give up hope yet though. It's still two more episodes left  __________________

I think it was switched because they cut the season short and had to try to make the finale work.

That's my guess, too
 And it would make sense... If not for the now more animated part, I think the finale would have been 7x18 and having it end with that episode from last week wouldn't have been good.__________________

He promised he wouldn't say anything and yet he did. Maybe because he's genuinely worried about Red and he feels that Liz needs to know or could there be another reason?

I think it was because she again was only seeing the bad in Red and Ressler gave her the reason or a possibility for a reason that would be not too easy to see, not too easy to cope with.
He once told Liz that Red loves her and I think at some point he thinks her behavior regarding Red not fair because I honestly believe he sees that there isn't only bad in Red. __________________
