Really interesting to hear that it was the same for all of you guys The weather is really crazy here right now. We had a really bad storm last night and it's still going on. No hurricane or something similar but that was enough for me already...

We had had storms here too. It got too warm here this week. Now we have had about a 40 degree temperature change

These storms are just crazy lately. Tomorrow we've got a mild warning again and starting on Thursday the storms are supposed to be done with for now. Hopefully that's true.

We don’t need a world war. I don’t know what is wrong with Putin. And after this, I am convinced he meddled in our elections and caused us to elect Trump because he was already planning this. How close is the fighting to you?

I'm still so shocked about Russia fighting a war against and in the Ukraine. I still can't believe it and yes, somehow the whole world has gone crazy. He simply is insane if you ask me.
And I've such a respect for all the Ukrain people that stay back to fight. So many civilians. They all, the whole country, has all of my respect.

Still I'm wondering how we can even stop this. It's clear that none of our NATO countries can interfere without it really becoming World War 3. But the Ukraine alone won't manage to withstand those forces either on their own. They simply don't have the weapons, the logistic.
My only hope it that through all the sanctions the people in Russia, who are as shocked as we are, will wake up and stop all of this.

Besides, I became a big fan of Anonymus What they did, this hacker network, it's stunning. They also try to wake the people in Russia up. And Putin might manage to keep down smaller group but if the whole country revolts, even he won't have chance.

ETA - It's about 800 km from where I live. It's right around the corner. Miranda is a lot farther away, but in Europe all is small honestly in comparison with the US.

I am so in awe of the Ukraine President to stay behind and fight like he is. That is a leader right there.

I haven’t heard what the hacker group is doing? But from what you said, I am so happy about it.

I hope the sanctions will work too. But Putin just doesn’t care if the Russians suffer either. I am glad to see NATO working together. I was scared at first that these countries were going to put money first and not do anything. But you just can’t let him do what he wants. I don’t think he would stop at Ukraine. And it does scare me that WWIII will start over this. I know no one wants that, except maybe Putin.

I hear excerpts of that speech he gave last week and it sounded like he wasn’t stable mentally anymore. That’s what makes this really bad.

Honestly, a person that makes such a decision can't really be stable, can he? I can't believe he would want that. What would he gain from this? Besides a great number of mentions in future history.

The hacker group really is good. They for example hacked all the censored media stations and streamed a message to the people that Putin started the war against Russia and kind of animated the people to stand up again it together. It was really good.

I really hope the sanctions will work, too. A lot of refugees already arrived in Germany and in all the other EU countries. It's fantastic how welcoming they all are. We're on the eastern border of Germany, so they arrive here first and all the local government are preparing for the run of refugees like hell at the moment. They are asking all apartment and house owners to please make free living space available for the refugees. The government will cover the costs and it's fantastic how willing people are helping. It's completely different now in comparison to when all the refugees from Africa or the Middle East arrived. Most people didn't and still don't want them here.

I'm a fan of the Ukraine president right now as well.

I’ve been thinking about the difference on how the Syrian refugees were treated as well. Makes me sad.

What’s bad is the trump supporters here like Putin. I think they want this country to be like Russia as long as they are the ones in control and have to force everyone else to comply. So I figure they will start complaining about Ukrainian refugees and not wanting to help them. But of course for now the refugees can’t really get here.

I just hate this fighting. It makes me sick to think these people were just enjoying their life and some monster decides to take their country. It scares me for the future of the world.

And Putins war is also going to make climate change worse. It feels just hopeless .

Are the gas prices through the roof in your countries as well? The prices here have never been this high as they are now.

Marilyn, I read about this teenager. I think he did it before... Not to Russian oligarchs but some other people, right ones.

It's really a tragedy which could end really badly for all of us. I'm really afraid.

And yes, Miranda, the gas prices are through the roof here, too. And not just the gas prices, it'll continue with food (especially all the weed stuff), energy, heating fuel.

Yes gas prices are almost 4 dollars here. And I get the need for the sanctions but it is going to be hard to pay for things. Food is high too. But our increases started before the war.

Yes I’m afraid this will lead to a bigger war because i don’t think Putin will stop. And that’s scary. He knows the other countries don’t want a full scale war and he’s acting like a little child seeing how far he can go.

And what’s really sad is the Russians don’t even know what he is doing. Their news tells them lies.
