I know guys, the title is so lame. I couldn't come up with anything else.

so if anybody has another title, go for it.

And as you can tell I am back from my small vacation. I had such a blast. We did so many fun things. Swimming, bowling, we went to a game hall and all that fun stuff and we had pretty good weather.

How are all of you doing? I missed you all so much!

We start school at 4 years old here

From 4-12 years old is Elementary school
Then 12-16 is Secondary school.
Secondary school is on different levels. If you study on a low level, after that you can go to:
Secondary Vocational education.
And then
Then Higher Professional education.
But if your Secondary school level is high, you can go straight to Higher Professional education.
So if you take all of the longest steps, by the time you're done with Higher Professional education you'd be 21/22. (The fastest route you would be 19)

Only after that comes University (3 to 6 years normally)

I think it sounds complicated if I explain it like this

No of course I am not mad for changing it! I didn't go back to far in the old thread so I didn't see that Donna suggested this. This is a lot better than my lame title!

Yes I am back! I missed you all too so much. I know, Kris. I thought I would have wifi but it was pretty bad signal out there but for once that was actually good. The kids didn't have wifi either so we enjoyed everything to the fullest without clinging to our phones.

Oh yes, Miranda, I can imagine that this is really seldom and crazy that the kids have phones with internet access already

How old are they?

And Paula, man, why didn't I see that you answered the question about the Dutch school system before. Damn it, that means school for a really long time in the Netherlands

It's quite different from the German one

Yes school for too long in The Netherlands Kris.

The kids are 12 and 14 Kris. The 14 year old is glued to her phone and the 12 year old just got his phone so with him it's just starting to come.
