Girls have we all survived??! That was sooo heartbreaking

Wow what an episode!! This is my favourite this series and possible of all of them! Giants on mammoths!! The effects and the battles were amazing. 10/10 for me!!

Sam was just amazing in this episode his character just develops so much and he and Gilly are cute
I enjoyed Sam and maester Aemons scene too

Allistar - I've never thought he was all bad just goes about things the wrong way sometimes and I actually liked him this episode (except for when he called Ygritte a whore!!!), he admitted his mistake and stepped up to the mark...I doubt he's dead though?

Jonas - what a coward!! I hope he gets his comeuppance!
Grenn and Pyp
Edd is just fab, I hope he continues to survive!

Tormund I was so worried with the extra deaths that they were going to kill him! Glad he survived!

Very good and deserved death of Styr...finally!

Ghost!!!

And finally Jon and Ygritte
I knew it was coming but man that was sooo sad!!
So glad we got fiesty Ygritte earlier in the episode standing up to Styr!

I know her death was a little different to the books but wow it was so touching!! The look Jon gave her when he finally saw her, even though she pointed an arrow at him, he smiled! He was so pleased to see her again. When she sees him her love came through she would never have killed him.

So unlike in the books we see who kill her...interesting it was Ollie, who she spared (yes I know she killed his dad). Sam encourages Ollie on to fight and he kills the woman who spared Gilly last week! And the little boy Jon's looked after killed the only person he's ever loved

I wish they had shown Jon burning Ygritte, like she asked him to when they first met and he was going to kill her.
I hope they show Tormunds reaction to her death...but I doubt it...

Goodbye Ygritte/Rose I will miss you greatly

No I'm dead! But I try to survive

You perfectly summarize my thoughts.

One thing that confuses me- the Sam/Jon scene in the trailer did we ever get to see that in an episode?

It's a while since I've seen it, but I thought they were inside and Sam refers to Jon's wildling girl running through the villagers and Jon says 'she's not my girl'

Did I dream this?? I'm sure I didn't?? But I don't recall it in any of the episodes?? Can hardly see it being in next weeks??

Yes I remember this scene and we didn't saw it in an episode. Maybe in the next?

It appeared to be before the battles though when the wildlings were on the rampage??

I think the scene you're talking about has been cut of an episode like if there was a ton of NW scenes...
But hopefully we'll get to see it from the deleted scenes in the DVD.

....................................

I'm sooooooooooo sad and disappointed!!

Disappointed?? Because they killed people who didn't die in the book? Or the lack of Mance?
I'm very sad for the loss of Ygritte but I absolutely loved the episode.

Have you seen next weeks trailer yet - Mance is in it

Surprised they cut a scene they used in the trailer? But yes hopefully we will get to see it on the DVD and hopefully Kit and Rose will commentate on episode 9!!!

Yes why are you disappointed? Ygritte death is heartbreaking but it was a great episode.

I hope Kit and Rose will comment this episode.

Well I think I had so high expectations for this episode, it's my favorite storyline in the books and I feel like they didn't give them justice, especially to the Free Folk.
It was finally the moment to let us see them more than 4 seconds 38 but they've ruined it for me.

First no Mance, then they cut the last Ygritte scene,... that's too much for me.

Yes me too, I would have preferred them including the same dialogue and showing Jon burn her, but I preferred the changes they made, that they saw each other and Jon saw it happened and we knew who killed her. I thought it was very well done and very emotional. The shot when she's died and Jon's holding her

I still can't get over his smile when he saw her
