I hope they team up against something, I am a sucker for those kind of scenes.

Cross-posting this on both the Frary thread and here, since I hate spoiler tags...

And oh boy, this was an angsty one, practically from start to finish. Good thing I eat that up like a delicious red velvet dessert it is.

Snowball fight at the beginning between Mary and her LIWs is super cute! They are so happy... and then we find out that a month has passed since the tower incident. A FREAKING MONTH???

MF are still sort of on the outs as a result, which is kind of bummer. And then Francis does some amazing stuff, like promising to take her Uncle's army (which is now his army) and go save Mary's mother from the siege in Scotland. Needless to say, Mary swooned, I swooned. There was all sort of swooning. Sweeeeet Frary kisses, oh my. Sweet Frary morning-after scene OOOOOHHHH MYYYYY.

I suspect I'll be seeing those gifs a lot in future all over the place.

Hmmm, interesting to note, as cute as they are, Mary asks Francis not to keep making promises he can't keep... a theme that gets brought up again at the end of the episode, after he breaks this promise in order to save France from the mad king's delusions of grandeur that could essentially destroy France and Scotland right behind it. Of course, Mary understands why he as to do this, and forgives him for it, but it hurts. The reality of their situation will always hurt. They love one another more than any other person on the earth, but they both must choose their countries when necessary. As Mary did once before and Francis is forced to now (but his face when he goes to her-- you can see it kills him to have to make this choice, and ugh, it's freaking gorgeous to witness).

The "Come back to me" scene was like a hot dagger through my heart (which is to say it was AWESOME.) So. Many. Tears. She understood, she forgave and his face as she asked him to make two promises: one, not to promise things he can't fulfill and --ugh the dread on his face as he braced himself to hear the worst thing possible-- COME BACK TO ME. *stab stab stab* Like, wow. They just don't make scenes like that very often. So, powerful it would have knocked me over if I hadn't been sitting on my lazy butt.

I should also note the tumblr-dread over Mary declaring "our marriage was an awful mistake" was truly misguided, since she made her meaning very clear. That the marriage was a mistake BECAUSE OF THEIR DUTIES not because of their feelings for one another. She was saying that she regretted not sneaking off and wheeling and dealing for Scotland's sake, but her LOVE for Francis is why she didn't. Her LOVE for Francis is why she stayed. That right there, the opposite of something that should be freaked out above. That right there, is why we love these two.

Her final words were a tad ominous, but not in a "Oh God, Frary is in jeopardy, run for the hills" kind of way, but in a "must be Wednesday/Thursday kinda way."

In other news...

Kennash was HOT AND HEAVY, but not much else. That's OK for now, though.

PEPPERCORN was the absolute best thing ever! I adore him and so does Greer. Seriously, he is the sweetest person ever, and the things he did for her would melt even the coldest of hearts.

Henry, still mad (and entertaining) as hell.

His final scene with Catherine and Francis was riveting. He was so proud of Francis. His passionate expression of "conquering" the world and ruling with his son was outstanding. Even knowing he was trouser-less didn't take me out of the scene.

I'm so glad you mentioned that, because I got so excited when that happened on the screen and then I forget to ramble about it amidst all my other rambles. But, yes, despite him being minus a big ol' sack of marbles, the pride on his face was really quite moving.

I kept thinking about how he used to call Francis his usurper and favour Bash. If Henri's madness brought a single good thing, I guess it is his newfound pride in Francis.

This SHOW! It's killing me in the best way possible! I'll have more to say later, but I just needed to get that out before I go to bed. I laughed so hard at pantsless Henry, then bawled at the last MF scene. The KB & GP stuff is a balm on my always breaking in the best way possible Mary & Francis loving heart.

All I see is Kenna and Bash. The only couple i've ever found interesting. They took it to a whole new level. I almost forgot what else was happening.

Francis is back, last two episodes watching the Dauphin in action has been great!

The way Catherine and Francis looked at pantless!Henry

Catherine quick and devious as always!

I am so happy for Grier - if that's how you spell her name.

Great full episode!!

What amazing epsiode. I love everyone in it. I didn't mind that Lola was background because her she was front and center for awhile. I love how they focus on Geer now. I really love Peppercorn for her. He's a really sweet and sense able guy. I love that he stood up for her and how Geer is growing some feelings for him.

Love Kenna and bash. Like wow they really are growing on me. By every epsiode.

Francis is the top guy. I love how he handle mary uncle and proves how much he really loves her. I love Mary and francis even more together. But now they must they do what's right for their countries. It's getting even more tough.

The look of pride in Henry's face when he saw Francis agreeing with him was heartwarming. He never seemed to care about him and was always giving him "tough love" but he finally said he was proud of him. Francis' reaction to this also shows how much it must have hurt him that his father never seemed interested in him. I always love their interactions. And the scene with Catherine, the three of them, their "family" as Henry's said was great.

I'm glad Greer found a perfect husband, I still miss Leith but I'm happy for her.

Kenna and Bash were going at it all the episode good for them to finally starting to move on and try to make their marriage work.

For Francis and Mary I have no words, they're so perfect. They love each other so much but they know they have to think in their own countries first and it pains them to have to choose The bed scene was so perfect, I would love it if they ditched history and made Mary pregnant for real, it would be so perfect
