My friends and on twitter etc. They like her because of her meddling, but meddler or not, she's just so whiny and annoying.

I don't say this often but I wasn't fan of this episode overall I should have known, since the last one was so good.

Sadly, I wasn't able to watch live last night. But I just watched the episode this morning and... it definitely set up lots of drama going forward. Here are my random thoughts.
France - Catherine to Narcisse: "... in the absence of such a man, I'll settle for you." These two are fantastic. - Catherine looked GORGEOUS when they went to discover Charles on that farm. Her hair was so pretty. - Catherine had never seen Charles this happy, surrounded by a loving family - the one thing she and Henry couldn't give him. She wanted to be able to give her boy that happiness and peace. - Charles becoming Protestant. He can never make things easy, can he? Oy. - Nicole is VERY clever. She is TROUBLE. I felt so sorry for Charles when we discovered that her interest in him was not genuine. She's going to cause even more problems once Henri arrives on the scene. I can't wait for Catherine and Narcisse to teach her a lesson! - "Until one of my sons is dead. THAT is my punishment." Oh, GOD. Poor Catherine. LEEZA!!!! She truly is THE WORST! Hurting Catherine by hurting her siblings AND ALL OF FRANCE. Seriously, what did Catherine do to her? Is this just because she didn't get enough love and attention??? WHY IS SHE TAKING IT OUT ON HER FAMILY???? WHAT DID THE REST OF THEM EVER DO TO HER??? No matter what, I'm so happy that she has FINALLY left French Court. Scotland - Oh, Darnley. I just knew you would disappoint me. I don't even know what to say. Mary was so hopeful that she had a another chance at love and happiness. Like Amanda said, it's Cathry all over again. This cycle of betrayal and mistrust is going to be painful to watch. A purely political marriage. And what was with Darnley's attitude at the end?! Instead of falling at her feet and apologizing for his betrayal, he just excuses his behavior because Keira was "the love of his life" and accuses MARY of never loving him. Part of me sympathizes with his situation given how his mother separated him and Keira, but he didn't handle it in an honorable way at ALL. How am I supposed to believe anything he says? Will he really end the affair? - LOVED seeing James as the protective brother. How awkward was it when James walked in on Darnley and Keira? James walking in on someone else for once. When he threatened Darnley's life if he ever betrayed Mary again. I truly believe he wants his sister to be happy and doesn't want to see her hurt. - WHO IS THE LOYAL WATCHMAN?!!! - I already like Bothwell. He's bold and cheeky. England - Oh my gosh I loved Elizabeth SO FREAKIN' MUCH this episode!!! Playing "Queen" with Agatha. SO CUTE!! Gideon hopping on one foot and dancing. Her description of heaven was so beautiful. The fact that Agatha taught her that she couldn't let her childhood fears dictate her reactions to Mary, and decided to stop the invasion of Scotland. The scene at the end where she brought Agatha the blueberry pie and discovered she had passed away. Gideon and Elizabeth hugging in the chapel. I don't know what's going to happen between these two, but I really love how it's developing... __________________

What do you think of mary having to take some of james lands to give to darnley. I think she had to give him land and if she took from anybody else there would be protest and rebellion but james is her brother and so he knows why she is doing it and knows she will make it up to him and wont rebel because he wants his sister on the throne

I watched it again and wasn't as annoyed as the first time I watched it
France First and foremost, Catherine just looked so beautiful through the episode. I especially loved her look in that final scene. The dress and crown along with Megan of course were so beautiful Catherine's face when she learned she was eating pigeon soup too funny! I've been wondering how they were going to introduce Henri and I didn't see this coming at all. When Charles declared himself a Protestant I was genuinitely shocked, definitely not what I was expecting. Leeza is such a monster forcing her mother to choose one son's life over the other. I felt Catherine's pain so much in that final scene with Narcisse And now we have the set up for Henri, I'm looking forward to meeting him and curious how this is all going to go down. They definitely really ditched the history books so who knows how it's going to go. Nicole irks like Kira does. Wasn't a fan but we will see how it all develops. Scotland Darnley, Ugh. Honestly, he didn't do anything I wasn't expecting him to do before we were introduced to his character. We know how this is going to roll historically. But it was still a letdown for me because I was really enjoying him these past few episodes. I get it, he was so nice in the other episodes because he thought Keira left him and he was doing his best to be happy with Mary and develop their relationship. And then once he found out what his mother did it made him instantly bitter which is understandable. I don't think he's giving up Keira for a second. He's scared of James but he's also a weak willed fool. It was just sad to see Mary so happily planning her wedding and believing that maybe she could find love again against all odds only for that to be shattered in the end. What really irritated me was Darnley's attitude in that last scene where he snarked at her "You don't love me and you never will." Nothing like deflecting responsibility and blaming the injured party. Sucks that she has to marry that jerk in the end, talk about a toxic marriage that's going to be. Bothwell, I loved. I thought he had instant chemistry with Mary. He's interesting and very..masculine. He looks like he could make mince meat out of Darnley He is sooo the loyal watchman. James was an awesome big brother, I felt bad for him since he was struggling to protect Mary and also deal with having to give up things for Darnley who most definitely isn't worthy of his sister. England Not going to lie, I cried when Agatha died. So sad and the music gets me every time Elizabeth was also great, i loved hearing about her childhood and her fears of death and how in the end she didn't let her fears dictate her actions. Her character development this season has been a long time coming. Last edited by Scottish_Queen; 04-01-2017 at 05:34 PM |

I don't entirely blame Darnley for thinking Mary would never love him. I'm not saying Mary should have been okay with his affair, but given the situation she should have at least let him speak. He had lost the love of his life she should know how that feels. Not to mention, it's a bit hypocritical of her to put someone down for having an affair. Especially since they aren't even married yet.

I think Mary's biggest issue is with him lying to her rather than the actual affair. The broken trust is big, if he had told her what was going on from the start I'm sure she would have been more understanding. Plus it didn't help that he slept with Keira the day after she and Darnely first slept together. Not sure about you...but if my fiancee slept with his old girlfriend while we were engaged I sure as heck wouldn't be fine with it and would most definitely be not only yelling but dumping him in a heartbeat.
