Despite having posted on several FanForum boards since I joined in 2010, I did not start posting consistently until I discovered Reign. I fell in love with the show almost instantly – the romance, the costumes, the music, and the beautiful and talented actors in the cast. It was so…utterly charming. The main ship of Mary and Francis is what first captured my heart. I was thrilled when I found out that the show had a board here on FanForum - a place where I could go to celebrate the beauty that is "Frary" with fellow shippers, without the fear of judgment. Everyone here was so warm and welcoming! It felt like home.

Before I knew it, I was posting daily on the Frary thread. I would rush home after work just to backread and compose ridiculously long “catch up” posts, responding to everything that I had missed during the day. As I grew to adore many of the other characters and relationships on the show, I began to post in several of the other threads on the board as well. I became more and more immersed in the fandom. I began to learn how to organize a tumblr blog and edit screencaps into icons - things I never would have attempted if it weren’t for the encouragement I found on this board. Finally, this past September, I was thrilled and honored to accept a moderator position here. It has been such an immense pleasure to serve in this way – especially alongside my amazing co-mod, Issi (De Medici Queen).

SO, WHY DO I LOVE THE REIGN BOARD? I love this board so much because...it's FUN! Sharing and fangirling over beautiful edits, gifs, fan vids and fanfiction. Preparing and participating in survivors, trivia games, mad libs, and live re-watches. Surviving long, miserable hiatuses together. Signing on after watching an episode to share my thoughts and read everyone else’s comments. The day to day conversations analyzing every detail of the show and speculating about what may happen next. IT ALL BRINGS SO MUCH JOY TO MY LIFE. Just like the show itself, this board has been a wonderful escape for me. More importantly, the genuine friendships I have formed with the other posters here are ones that I will cherish forever. They are all amazing people – sweet, kind, funny and talented. I am truly blessed to know them and to share this journey with them.

In the two years that Reign has been on the air, the fandom has been through many glorious highs and devastating lows. During the second season of the show, there seemed to be mostly lows. We also lost our beautiful Francis early in the third season. All of this has affected our little board here on FanForum. It has been difficult, to say the least. I would not have been able to get through it without the support of my friends here on the Reign board. It may not be the same as it was in the beginning, but this board is still the warm, welcoming community that took me in a couple years ago. It is still alive and going strong, and I hope it continues to be for years to come. I am so proud and grateful to be a part of it.

What a ride we’ve been on as a fandom! Has it really been 2 years already? There have been such wonderful times, and some dark times. We have commiserated together, and we have celebrated together. Personally, because of this board, I have made some friendships that I hope last a long time. I am thankful for all of the posters who make this place what it is, and especially to the mods, past and present who makes The Reign board a wonderful and welcoming place to visit. Here’s to another year on this crazy ride!

It is obscenely late where I am and I should be asleep, but I had to stop in to say how BEAUTIFUL the OP is! I can't stop reading the testimonials and gawking at the art. It's beyond words. Huge props to those who contributed and constructed all of this beauty. All of this really brings back all the wonderful memories this show has brought me and I hope Reign will have a place here for many, many years.

Amanda, that was my original choice! I was really only waiting to see if another Frary fan wanted to grab it. I wanted to give them more options. But then you convinced me to just go ahead and steal it. BTW, your Happy New Year art is awesome!
