Welcome to the rewatch everyone! Don't be afraid to jump into the discussion, even if you aren't able to watch the whole episode this week.

Keri's random thoughts, Part 1:

Uh oh, Elizabeth is feeling a bit queasy. We all know what that means. Poor girl. What a heartbreaking storyline for Liz.

Mary talking to Don Carlos like he's a small child.

Ugh, Narcisse. So smug. Of course you are going to try your best to take advantage of the situation (while trying to make Mary feel guilty for trying to save her starving people).

The first time I watched this Mary/Gideon balcony scene, I was upset because the balcony was such a special place for Frary. It was too soon for her to be "bonding" with anyone else, and I wanted to scream at Gideon to GO AWAY. However, he was very perceptive and right in what he was saying about marrying Don Carlos. It was good advice.

"You know nothing of Francis or my heart." --- You tell him, Mary!

Well, at least Gideon knew that Mary had loved Francis deeply, and that she wouldn't be able to settle for less.

Christopherine.... Oy. What a creep. Catherine is visibly upset at seeing the sex horse, and he is so insensitive to her feelings. Insisting that they still use that thing even after she says she is uncomfortable. UGH.

A proposal from Elizabeth! Ah, clever trick Gideon.

And now for the obligatory Elizabeth/Dudley angst. Liz tells Robert about the baby. Quite a mess... but they do love each other. And he agrees to divorce his wife and marry her! Yeah, that's not going to last.

And another lecture from William. Good for Liz, fighting for what she wants.

Leith interrupting Claude's "date" with the Archduke. Latin lesson.

Aww Leith teaching Claude how to fight and defend herself. He wants her to be be safe even when he's not there to protect her. BUT... then Leith has to go and mention the fact that they can never marry and they will both have to move on eventually. Claude gets insecure about being intimate with him, and it goes south from there. Oh, the angst.

Keri's random thoughts, Part 2:

Ick, more Delphine and Bash chasing the "jar of hearts" killer. Did they honestly think anyone would like these two as a romantic couple? You're great, Torrance, but I'm not buying it. About as exciting as watching paint dry.

Gosh that dog is GIGANTIC!!! He's almost as tall as Ade.

"I had real love in my marriage with Francis. I do wonder if I can live without it."

Don Carlos' memory of the accident starting to return! Not good. He is recovered and remembers that Mary deceived him. And now he wants revenge.

And here we go.... Asking for the crown matrimonial.

Claude getting some wise advice from Greer. She is afraid of getting her heart broken, but when you love someone, it's worth the risk. Side note: I love how mature both Leith and Greer were after their relationship ended. They really want each other to be happy.

So, the evil urges of a serial killer transfered to Bash's girlfriend... Yikes.

Ah, Mary notices that Don Carlos can move his arm.

Getting married tomorrow!!

I probably should be offended that Dudley just locked his wife up, but.... the girl really is crazy. Those wild eyes and the threats. Amy has every right to be upset, but... it's out of control. Robert has to protect himself, Elizabeth and their child.

Mary is suspicious of Don Carlos... trust your instincts!! But it's hard to reject all that Spain has to offer.

Another Greer/Mary scene and another Francis reference.

M: "I am a queen about to marry a broken prince for power."

G: "You're also a widow grieving the man you truly loved."

Eww Catherine catching Christophe with another girl and the sex horse. And then he uses the opportunity to weasel his way into the the King's Guard. Don't trust him, Catherine. You have no idea how FAR beneath you he is.

Keri's random thoughts, Part 3:

Mary going to Gideon for help uncovering the truth... in one night. She's not giving him a lot of time.

And Dudley finally admits that Amy is insane. Sadly, locking her away won't solve your problems.

Uh oh... Amy is ranting and talking to herself. That can't be good. Now she broke the lock... trashed the room....and threw herself off the balcony. She's really committed to her revenge. What a final "screw you" to Liz and Robert. Ensuring that they can never be together.

Poor Elizabeth still wants to believe that she can marry the man she loves.

Yes, Delphine. PLEASE LEAVE.

The confused Archduke and his stuffed bird. Claude telling him to shut up and leave... "But I stuffed it myself."

Aww Cleith's conversation about "Latin." I think we cracked the code on that one, kids. Claude is sure.

CLEITH MAKING LOVE!!!! SAYING I LOVE YOU!!!!

Gideon discovered that Don Carlos is planning to have Mary killed! But Mary has a trick up her sleeve as well.... to prove that he's a LIAR.

Well, it took like two seconds for Don Carlos to show his true colors.

Oh, Narcisse. You coward.

"Don Carlos, I hereby banish you from France. And if you try to turn King Phillip against us with lies, if you attack my country or Mary in any way, I will not hesitate to share with your father the ghastly details of your visit. Take your toy and your men with you."

NARCISSE!!!!! How could you even think of doing that to poor Claude? Marrying her off - selling her like she's your property.

Elizabeth and Dudley realizing that neither of them killed Amy and that she did this to herself just to hurt them and keep them apart. And what about the child? "But this child was to be our greatest blessing..."

Poor Mary, accepting that she likely will never marry for love again. "I do want love in my life. Truthfully, who doesn't want that? But for me as a queen oh, I was lucky to have it once."

Oh, Gideon... now that I'm not seeing you through the eyes of my grief over Francis, I rather like you. You're a good man. Warning Mary about the Spanish mercenaries, and about the Protestant reformation in her own country. Careful, your soft spot for Mary is showing. And how can you not feel sympathy for a father who's been separated from his child?

And we end with a glipse of the killer! At this point... pretty much everyone was figuring out that it was Christophe.

Poor Catherine. Having Chrisophe suggest that....uggg ewww

Leith and Claude are cute.

Go away Dudley you're boring.

Go away Delphine you're boring

Go away William...you get it

This whole episode was a little lacking in comparison to the rest of the season.

Catherine telling off Din Carlos is epic however and saves the episode.

I don't blame Dudley's character (or the actor) for being boring, I just blame the writing. There was so much potential with the Dudley/Elizabeth storyline, but they just kept replaying the same angst over and over again. We want to be together. Maybe we can be together? No we can't be together. Repeat. It's pretty tiresome.

Completely agree that Catherine telling off Don Carlos was epic and hands down the best part of the episode.

All of them had potential....the writers were not great at writing the C story characters.
