Keira surviving would be an interesting twist. It would certainly make it easier for both of them to go through with the marriage. Like you said, the marriage is obviously happening, so something must help them reconnect or come to some sort of understanding.

It definitely doesn't seem like they reconnect based on the stills but I hope they at least figure out a way to live with this arragement where they both aren't completely miserable if that's possible.



I love their chemistry, it would be a shame to totally waste it.

I'm not sure? I thought the entire point of it was to make sure the marriage was actually consummated so no one could say otherwise and any children would be legitimate. So I don't know if it matters that it's a second wedding or not if those are the reasons? I'm assuming they won't do it again thankfully but you never know with this show. At least poor Bash isn't around if they do

I think they said on Twitter that one of the 4x08 IMDB credits were wrong-- That actor in the England storyline was playing Hawkins, not Sir Francis Drake, as listed on IMDB.

Oh that's right, thanks! I totally didn't even catch that the same Hawkins actor was listed as a different character Drake and not Hawkins.

I agree 100% about the public consummation scene. We do NOT need to see that. Although I must admit that I appreciated the first one. Yes, it was hella awkward. Yes, my heart broke for Bash. But I truly loved how Frary found a way to focus on each other and escape to their own little world. Plus, Tobelaide's chemistry was on FIRE.

I hope they can find some way to live with this arrangement and not be miserable, too. It would definitely be a shame to waste Will and Ade's chemistry. Given Will's dancing background, I'm hoping we get a wedding dance.

That makes sense. If that's the main purpose of a public consummation, then it seems like it would still be necessary even for a second marriage. But if a major component of the ceremony is to confirm the bride's virginity, than obviously it wouldn't be necessary for a second marriage. I don't know.

IMDB updates it's own site. They get their info from various sources, but rarely are they directly from the shows themselves, thus the mistakes.

One purpose of consummation is proving virginity, but being sure of the actual consummation is also a much bigger reason. Consummating solidifies the marriage and keeps it from being easily annulled. If they go too long without consummating and it can be proven, it can be said that they were never actually married at all. Royals would likely have to do that no matter how many times they marry.

^ That's what I thought. So the public consummation would likely be required for Mary and Darnley. I guess the question is whether or not they will show it or even mention it on the show. These writers don't shy away from awkwardness, so...

True. One things for sure, whenever we actually see a sexual encounter (public or private) between Mary and Darnley, it's going to be intense. Unless something changes drastically, that's going SO awkward and uncomfortable.
