I often wonder what Jane might have done if he had met Erika or Kristina before he knew Lisbon.

Even though he wasn't ready for a relationship, I think he might have fallen into one. It would have been a disaster.

Kristina wouldn't have lasted, either. Kristina would very soon figure out that she was not really what Jane needed or wanted. And not because she's psychic - but because she has a good sense of people's feelings.

I'd love to have seen a scene where Jane goes to Lisbon's home after his date with Kristina, and basically tells her that the date has proven to him that he is not capable of having a relationship with a woman since the death of his wife. Lisbon tries to convince him that Kristina is just not the "right" woman.

And after Lisbon leaves, Jane realizes who the "right" woman is. :)
