Nice

Not exactly on topic, but I love that drive-in movies are coming back.

KeithUrbanfan 07-12-2020 08:27 PM

Yes

I haven't actually been to one of the pop-up drive-ins yet, but we went last year to a local drive in that's still in business. It was fun - a real nice throwback to when I was a lot younger.

Nice

I do hope some of the drive-ins continue into the fall when it will be cooler. Right now I can't imagine sitting in a car in a parking lot in the heat - even after dark.

KeithUrbanfan 07-14-2020 07:20 PM

I know

FoxPhile 07-25-2020 04:10 PM

It's not very likely, but what would you think of a Mentalist reboot or movie? Would it have to have the same cast, or would you be okay if they brought in new actors?

KeithUrbanfan 07-25-2020 08:10 PM

I don't know it depends how they handle it

FoxPhile 07-26-2020 02:49 PM

I was just talking about reboots with my sister-in-law the other day. Most I think miss something when they use a different cast. Magnum PI is a good example. Although I like it better with Tim Kang on it, it just doesn't have the same appeal as the old one. Similar with Hawaii 5-0. I like it because I love the guy who plays Steve McGarrett, but it's a totally different show. Even The X-Files, with the same cast, somehow couldn't create the same magic as the original series.

KeithUrbanfan 07-26-2020 07:17 PM

I agree

FoxPhile 07-27-2020 03:49 PM

If they did a reboot, I'd prefer that it was something like a sequel. Maybe with the kids of the original group grown up and running something like a Private Detective agency. They could have occasional appearances from the original cast, with a bit of comedy as the parents try to advise their kids. But it would essentially be it's own show.

KeithUrbanfan 07-27-2020 07:15 PM

Yeah one thing I'm scared of is them making it like Dallas and the Bobby thing

FoxPhile 07-28-2020 03:08 PM

Oh no! That Bobby thing was awful.

I'd hate for them to do like they did when Harm and Mac from JAG showed up on NCIS:LA and we found out they did not live happily ever after. If they bring back Jane and Lisbon on any show I want them to be growing old together happily surrounded by children and grandchildren.

Exactly my feelings exactly
