I never thought of that. If you count the 5 years before the series started, he was with Lisbon for 12 years and I guess Angela was only about 7 or 8 - I'm not sure exactly. But didn't he know Angela for a long time before they married? I got the impression she and her family were in the carnival also - like they grew up together.

Yeah your right do you think the reason he was more open with Lisbon in the 6th season he tried to keep his feeling afraid Rj would know his feeling after tch he knew red john knew cause loreali knew so he said why bother hiding it

To some extent, yes. I think he realized that Red John knew about his feelings for Lisbon. I think he felt that if RJ knew, it was safer for Lisbon if she knew as well - at least that he cared about her a lot, if not necessarily that he was in love with her. She knew as well as Jane did that RJ would target anyone close to Jane in order to get to him, so if she knows that she falls into that category, she can be more careful.

Seriously, though, I think if things got to that point, Lisbon would do whatever she could to protect Jane - including hitting a LEO over the head with a baseball bat.
