I'm so excited about this episode! Some of my favorite episodes concern Native American legends.
I'll be glad to see Toni Trucks again - loved her in the "Highway of Tears" episode last Fall. For some reason, the guest stars weren't included in the synopsis as they usually are, so I'll add the other names when I have them. __________________

Mishipeshu. woohoo.
Since I think it's about Lake Superior denizen, I wonder if the boys are going to travel? Or maybe the Mishipeshu traveled. That's it. looks good, but I'll have to catch it on demand. TGF that |

What is up with Sean Renard? I didn't see that coming with the punch and the lift. |

^ It was very strange, Patty. He truly didn't seem to be aware of what he'd done, was mystified by the wallet in his pocket.
I hope the guy he punched didn't get a good look at him, or won't come down to the precinct to report the assault and recognize him. I re-watched the episode tonight. It was interesting that the first scene was the fight between Nick and Hank, and then jumped back 2 days to the dinner at Monroe & Rosalee's. I don't recall the show having done anything like that before. Poor Nick. I hope he doesn't start drinking the hard stuff too often. Anyway, they didn't want to talk about Juliette but Nick can't think about anything else when he's off-duty. Monroe and Rosalee probably shouldn't be messing with the Hexen-book and hat and I'm a little surprised Renard was willing to bring them over. I smell danger. Juliette at the bar was terrifying. The Hexen-power makes her arrogant and very careless. She can't control it. (But doesn't Bitsie have the most beautiful eyes you ever saw? ) Nick should've bailed her out, though. He may think she's safer in jail (from herself); but she couldn't be kept there indefinitely and now she sees it as further betrayal. Bitsie's acting in the jail scene was astonishing. I hate this storyline for Juliette, but I have to admit it's allowing Bitsie's talent to shine. Back to the Creature Feature .. The Mishipishu was awesome, especially the closeups of the cougar's face. The special effects team really outdid themselves for this one. Having a Totem Pole carved in the Mishipishu likeness was a brilliant touch! It was great to see Deputy Farris again (and Hank seemed to think so, too! ). I wouldn't be sorry if they hook up. I was so pleased at the respect shown to Native American culture. Hector and Simon were treated with great dignity. Again, Grimm addressed an important social issue. Russell was amazing when Hank was with Simon on the power quest, having the vision of 5-year old Simon seeing his father beaten to death. That brought tears to my eyes. And yes, I was glad when Mishipishu possessed Deputy Farris and killed McClay. Justice was served at last. : So sad for Nick, watching the sleeping Juliette in her cell and reliving their earlier conversation. And this is just the beginning of his horror story .. __________________

The one part of the show that made my eyebrows go up was when Wu asked the Captain, "Of all the crime that happens, how much would you say is wesen related?"
Sean tells him, "I'd say all the crime is related to wesen." I am paraphrasing as I don't recall the exact quotes. Crime is mostly because of wesen. This gave me an idea that the Royals were around to be a sort of policing unit, some way of group that kept wesen in check?????? |

^ oh yes! Made Wu's eyebrows go up, too!
I hope we do learn about the role of the Royals next season, in connection to the Keys, the Coins, and in their relationships with Wesen and Grimms. We know that some Grimms worked for Royals to eliminate Wesen in the past; but they appear to be mortal enemies now. __________________
