This episode is getting so good, especially at the end with Renard and Adalind discussing Diana.

This episode was written by Brianna Kouf, whose past shows were among my favorites. Again, she wrote the Aswang episode. She has a way with story telling that appeals to me. The iniital story, how nice to not have it chopped up by commercials, was a peek inside the luchadore lifestyle. Benito's shop was well designed and his character was such a neat peek again into the life style.

A few things I noticed are the fact that Nick does not seem all that powerful. He does seem to have super hearing, but his fighting always needs another like partner Hank to help him maintain control. It makes for good storytelling though to not have Nick be a superman.

Nick and Adalind, even though they did "it" still seem to be quite awkward with each other and not sure how to approach their relationship. At least they embrace their parenting relationship. However, both of them have a secret to keep from each other at this point.

Can anyone provide a screen capture of Rachel Wood's "rap sheet" that Eve was looking at? I'd like to know more of what it said beyond that she is on HW's watch list.

Anyone notice during that "gatitas?" ceremony Monroe looking around as if he also heard the masks on the wall whispering? Gah, the whispers. (Lostie reference)

I always wonder how in the heck do Monroe and Rosalee find wesen information as fast as they do. Do those books (thank you Uncle Felix.... it does look like his trunck of books is being kept at the spice shop basement) Do these books have a table of contents? lol

Finally, I'm so excited that Nick is writting his own book.

Okay so...what about the stick? Did we forget about it?

I knew he would put the mask on, no way he would listen. Serves him right.

I do love that Nick doesn't try to do everything on his own, it does make for better storytelling.

The episode was a little on the boring side because it focused too much on the Wesen of the week story which I didn't care for at all but other parts of the episode was good.

How the hell does Rachel, Renard's PR lady know about Diana and Adalind? I guess BC really do have a lot of resources at their disposal.

Renard is an untrustworthy person and I knew why I never liked him. He's a user and he's power hungry. He's willing to side with BC, use Diana and Adalind, and turn his back on Nick and the Scooby gang to gain what he most want. I'm anticipating his fall.

Nice to have some more Scooby gang scenes. I think it's smart on their part to keep the identity of what was in the box a secret.

Monroe and Rosalee are so freaking cute together and I love them.

Nick and Adalind are definitely keeping a serect from one another but I still loved their scene. Nick looked happy to be home again with Adalind and Kelly. Kelly is such a cutie pie. I love all the babies that play him. I especially liked how Adalind tried to tell Nick about her powers returning in her own way to gauge his reaction and head space. Nick didn't disappoint. He said they would deal with her hexenbiest powers returning together because she's changed and that they have Kelly to think about now. Side note, loved that bit about worried about killing one another

This site is acting up for my computer so I can't quote you Rickyliscious.

However, I was always surprised when Renard appeared to be a good guy after his wrongful deeds in season 1. Then as the seasons progressed, he really seemed to be working on the good side. His Jack the Ripper story line always bugged me that he could kill so much like that and never have any consequences.
I like him good.
I don't want him to turn to the bad side.
Or is the wesen side (aka bad side) really going to be bad?
Time will tell

I think it's too soon to judge whether Renard will take BC's side, or play a double game against them. He has got a great poker face, you can never tell what he's really thinking.

Of course he was going to put on the mask. The guy wasn't bad he just wanted to be important. I wonder what happened to prior wearers of the masks when they finished their careers.

I will be disappointed if the captain actually sides with BC. For now I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. And I don't know why that PR lady thinks he's going to have an insta-family with Adalind based on what we've heard about Diana and her casting and Adalind is falling for Nick wanting to be a family with him. It's just going to be weird.

That's a good question. Maybe they ended up crazy too

Yes, in time we'll see where his head is at but I'm still unwilling to trust him .

Agreed completely. And I also think that, while it was unfortunate and a HUGE mistake to underuse him/not develop him the way they could/should have past season two, that mistake works in their favor right now because there are several different directions they could move him in with this storyline.

I would like to see him play a double game against them. While I wouldn't mind him being tempted by them to use them to gain power, I would hope that he would end up against them at the end.

I didn't like this episode as much as the last two because it had that "filler" feel to it, and I didn't care for the Wesen of the Week storyline in it. At this point in the show, I tend to only get into Wesen of the Week stories when they give focus on or are attached to one of the main characters - like it looks like next week will with that preview they showed.

The distrust is showing in Nick and Adalind's relationship, which I thought was one of their more realistically written moments. But Nick seemed indifferent/monotone. I just don't get the writing for him with her.

Who has Diana now? How did BC find out about her? There are different ways to read that scene with Renard - will he use them to get to Diana? Or will he think he has to work with them because they know of Diana, possibly have Diana? Either way, I think the time for being able to be a family with her will be long past with the way she is and how she's lived.

You and Lutesse have good points here, having Renard eventually be on Nick and the gang's side working as a double agent. TPTB will take us on a roller coaster ride of highs and lows if they do.

Then the second bolding, to think that he has actual feelings for this daughter he doesn't know and that he will try to win her back .... for Adalind? For himself? So many interesting roads to take. We all thought of Adalind's feeling when Diana was taken, but Sean helped the Resistance out by help abduct the little girl. I guess he did have feelings of protection for her by doing that.

Now for new stuff.
I was making my butter lamb for Easter and thinking of Holy Week and things and Jesus and the cross and Monroe and Rosalee's talk (how did that pop in there lol).
So Monroe is talking of other important sticks in the Bible and Rosalee comments, "Yeah parting the Red Sea yada yada yada" And Monroe comments that it is Aremeic and Rosalee says yeah I'm fluent.
Ba da boom,
I think that was a clue in a convoluted way that the magic stick is a part of the cross of Christ because Jesus spoke Aremeic.

With that said, wow, Grimm goes where few tv shows have gone and that is politics and religion. What do you think?

I'll be surprised if the "stick" is overtly religious in nature. In fact, I will be disappointed if it is. So far, the writing has been essentially agnostic and I prefer it that way.
