Lutesse 04-27-2014 07:43 AM

Yes! He's going to start wondering what these people are NOT telling him! :goof:

My favorite was the french fry thing, tho.

East West Players’ 48th Anniversary Visionary Awards Dinner & Silent Auction on April 28th Honors Reggie Lee (Grimm), Maurissa Tancharoen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Peter Lenkov and Ken Solarz (Hawaii 5-0), and Playwright Paul Kikuchi

East West Players (EWP), the nation’s premier Asian American theatre, celebrates the achievements of individuals who have raised the visibility of the Asian Pacific American (APA) community through their craft at the 48th Anniversary Visionary Awards Dinner & Silent Auction. The fundraising event will take place on Monday April 28, 2014 at the Universal Hilton. Proceeds from the gala will benefit East West Players’ educational and artistic programs.

“Opportunities for Asian American artists and executives in the entertainment industry are beginning to increase each year with greater momentum,” said Tim Dang, Producing Artistic Director of East West Players. “With America’s changing demographics and a larger global reach, the entertainment industry must recognize the wealth of Asian American talent and the rich and cultural diversity that emanate from our community. While there is still much work to be done to increase our visibility, we thank our long standing partners at The Walt Disney Company, CBS and NBC and welcome new partners such as Mattel, HBO and Mnet America. We salute those who have made a valuable impact on the APA community and congratulate all of our honorees.”

“I am humbled receiving an award with the word ‘visionary’ in it,” says honoree, actor Reggie Lee. “Especially from a theatre organization that has not only been considered the largest, and first and foremost Asian American theatre company in the United States, but one which I call home. Feeling like I’m being honored by my peers for having, in some way, been an example of paving the way is nothing short of heartwarming. I am grateful and eagerly look forward to celebrating the progress of our Asian American creatives as well as those who have given us tremendous opportunity. Here’s to a bright future for East West Players and a good time on April 28th!”

Reggie Lee (Visionary Award) stars as ‘Sgt. Wu’ on NBC’s hit sci-fi police drama Grimm currently in its third season. Prior to Grimm, he was best known for his role as Secret Service Agent ‘Bill Kim’ on the popular FOX show Prison Break. Since having starred as Lance Nguyen in Universal’s high-octane blockbuster The Fast and the Furious in 2001, Lee has had memorable roles in films from Pirates of the Caribbean to Tropic Thunder, and more recently, in Safe and The Dark Knight Rises. Stage credits include Broadway and National Touring Companies of Miss Saigon and Carousel. He continues to be active with East West Players.

Lutesse 04-30-2014 09:40 AM

Thank you, Marilyn! Well-deserved, Reggie!

Thanks for the article :yay: I'm so happy he gets recognition, the show wouldn't be the same without him

ITA, Natacha. The cast of characters is so well-balanced. You couldn't ask for better, and I consider every one of them indispensable.

There's going to be a "Wu moment" in tonight's episode that I'm very eager to see play out. :bunny:

I think he's starting to put the pieces together on his own about what's been happening around him. When Trubel mentioned Wesen, I think this is what's going to start him on putting together the pieces.

Lutesse 05-02-2014 07:50 PM

^ I do think he's going to be watching them more closely now, not shrugging off the strange exchanges between Nick and Hank (and now Trubel), or trying so hard to rationalize the weird crime scenes.

|Sweet Disposition| 05-05-2014 12:19 AM

I love the struggle with himself when he was talking to Trubel.

Lutesse 05-05-2014 06:07 AM

Yes! That was very well played!
I wonder if he wanted to warn her of the strange things she might see, or if he was actually about to tell her of his experience...?

|Sweet Disposition| 05-06-2014 12:09 AM

I can imagine him trekking his experience but realize it is still to fresh. Would have been interesting to see her reaction to it.

Lutesse 05-06-2014 05:29 AM

After all she's seen, she probably wouldn't have blinked.
On second thought, the aswang sucking the baby dry may have made her blink.
