Their relationship was so messed up! They were both very immature. It wasn't right for him to lie to her, but honestly Charlotte should have been paying more attention to her daughter, not saying it would have stoppped it from happening, but would have stopped it sooner. The drugs in this movie made the adults such idiots

She should have! She was definitely trying to be more the friend than the mother sometimes. But at the end...she was so worried about Minnie when she'd been gone and I was happy that even though everythign was crazy...she still was so worried and just wanted her home.

Did the whole Charlotte wanting Monroe to marry Minnie take you by surprise?!

Yeah she was trying too hard almost

The drugs were no help at all too, and especially with Charlotte losing her job ( wasn't that shocked by that, with how irresponsible she was that was only a matter of time), that didn't help anything either. But you are right, in the end she was just worried about her daughter

That was so weird, the marriage thing!

I was like WTF when I first watched it. Was totally awkward, and backfired on Charlotte when Minnie just ran off after.

So many drugs. So many. I know it was the Era and stuff. Buuut so many drugs and bad decisions.

Yeah it was for sure the era, and drugs were even worse in San Francisco which didn't help. It just made people make even poorer decisions. Plus her having a baby young didn't help either.
