UC & Slash Thread, take 1: We're gonna do it. Let's get to it!
UC & Slash Thread, take 1: We're gonna do it. Let's get to it!
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do... Honestly, those words were not mine. They were taking from a fabulous song of the fabulous Ms. Minogue: Too Much of a Good Thing. And since there are soooo many (new) characters outside the Camden family on the show, biting us in the ass lately - I say, hell - why not! We're safe to do this without having to worry about incest. So let's go ahead and let's discuss and initiate the wildest speculations! __________________

Oooh I'm all on board for some UC Slash lovin!
My list thus far.... Matt/Kevin (thanks to a certain fanfic by Nina) Sarah/Cheryl Lucy/Roxanne Roxanne/Kevin Martin/Simon Cecilia/Lucy and if they were not related, I'd ship Lucy/Mary and Matt/Simon, but since they're family, I won't go there. Nikki __________________

oh Nikki! I'm so glad you're still alive after enduring my writing.
On your couples - good choices! Especially Roxanne/Kevin - which leads me to another couple - I'm sure Mary would seek revenge for her sis if she found out - and she'd kick Roxanne's ass. OMG where do all those D/s slash scenarios come from... On a more "G"-rated note. If Chandler is good for anything, I'd say it's for his scenes with Eric in season 7. I doubt I could see them sexually involved, but still their chemistry during their "who's-the-pastor-here-battle" was undeniable IMO. ETA: so I was thinking a little bit harder and maybe that's not true with Chandler. Because finally a porn bird ooopss a "Thorne Bird" theme came to my mind and I was thinking hell, let's make it Chandler/Cecilia! I tried to do it with Ruthie instead of Cecilia but it didnt seem right since Ruthie is such a little smart-ass and hard to come by with something as emotional as romanticizing a relationsship like this. Btw, I'm still very curious to read your Cheryl/Sarah piece, Nikki! So to sum this up: for now my UC ships include Kevin/Roxanne Chandler/Cecilia Lucy/Jess of 'Gilmore Girls' and on the slashy side Kevin/Matt Roxanne/Mary Cheryl/Sarah I also agree that Simon seems to be very slashable - unfortunately I haven't found the right person for him yet - maybe that's since I don't know who Martin is yet?! __________________

I've read plenty of fanfics involving Simon and his friend from Season Seven, the half Jewish one who went with him to Matt and Sarah's dinner thing with the parents. I'll try to hunt down those fics cause they're really well written and realistic, not just smutty, but something I could actually see happening with someone as sheltered as Simon.
I'll PM you my Sarah/Cheryl story so you can beta it. Nikki __________________

oh yeah, I remember him... didn't that chick from "8 Simple Rules..." play his girlfriend which later hitted on Simon?
and woohoo! can't wait to read it! though I'm not sure about the beta-reading part... you know I can hardly express myself in English. besides - are we scaring people here with that topic? __________________

Morris was his name. He and Simon had alot of slashy moments. So did Robbie/Simon for that matter too. Simon is just really easy to ship with other men.

True... though I'm not big on male-slash-shipping, I see that too.
So - anything for discussion? anyone want to join us? __________________

Was that to entice me to join the convo? I wouldn't say "fabulous" but thanks for the compliment Nikki.
Wilson's head is a strange color. Anyway, I always kind of liked the idea of Wilson/Lucy. I could totally see them working out and having some real chemistry. The scenes they had together were always so realistic and sweet. I thought about fic'ing them, but I couldn't do that because then I know I would write myself into a corner about Mary being jealous and somebody having a confrontation with her. Bleck! But...if that inspires anyone or anything, I'd read. __________________

I did like the episode where Lucy's friend dies and Wilson comforts her. It was quiet sweet.
Oh Nina, please tell me you've not fallen for Sydney/Lauren? I simply hate Lauren with a passion. Is it just me, or do you seem to have a fondness for characters who essentially hate each other? Ie Liz/Tess. Nikki __________________

Kay - great manip! I Bev in that dress - sooo pretty. And Andrew in a tux? - I agree about the Mary getting jealous thing though... so I couldn't write that either. Funnily I see Mary *much* more jealous when it comes to Wilson than if it were Robbie (or Ben). So...
Nikki - hm... I Lauren - with Sark, Vaughn or Sydney or simply Evil!Lauren. But if you tell me you like Sark and Syd, we're even - I'm really open to UC, but that creeps me out beyond the pale. As for the question - do I have a fondness for characters who hate each other... hm. Not really - maybe I like couples with conflicts. And I like a certain D/s dynamic. I must disagree on one thing though - Lauren/Syd is not to compare with L/T. I agree there's basically hate and mistrust and sex and yeah when it comes to L/S. But L/T: they didn't hate each other, they had a lot of respect for one another, they weren't underestimating each other and though Liz was always kind of suspicious but wanted to believe Tess was true, Tess knew she could trust Liz - so that was a completely different dynamic - oh, I could do essays on that one. So since we went pan-fandom already... I'll include my 7th Heaven favourites in the scheme... The Hate - Sex - Who'll dominate, who'll submit - Couples Nina/Jack ("24") Lauren/Sydney ("Alias") and heh... Matt/Kevin also fall under that category to some degree. You're bad/lazy/annoying and I'm too nice for you- Couples Rory/Tristan ("Gilmore Girls") Ben/Felicity ("Felicity") Kyle/Lily ("Judging Amy") Joan/Iris ("Joan of Arcadia") Lorelai/Sherry ("Gilmore Girls") Jess/Lucy and I'd say that Robbie/Lucy are a mixture of this and the case below vvv The Vanilla - It's true love/friendship really (though maybe with a twist) - Couples Jack/Irina ("Alias") Buffy/Tara ("BtVS") Buffy/Angel ("BtVS") Spike/Dawn ("BtVS") Angel/Piper ("BtVS/Charmed") It's forbidden but yet so good - Couples Bruce/Amy ("Judging Amy") Maxine/Sean ("Judging Amy") Chandler/Cecilia So I respect you but... don't think I underestimate your being dangerous - Couples Liz/Tess ("Roswell") Vaughn/Sark ("Alias") ... and I'll win that game, we're playing. The Exceptions... Noel/Julie ("Felicity") Motto: You can make me whole again. Ephram/Laynie ("Everwood") Motto: We have lots of things in common and Angst is really boring anyway! Heather/Vincent ("Judging Amy") Motto: We're both lazy underachievers - so let's unite! __________________

Nah, don't chicken out! You know we love your writing. I'm voting for a Wilson/Grown-up Ruthie piece though.

I don't think I could really get into that one - I don't see a Wilson/Ruthie. I could see...W/Lucy, ooh W/Cecilia would be great. I could see that one. ::eye light up:: Might have to work on a fanart of that first though.

Pity. W/L -- I can't see. Maybe you can convince me on W/C... but I'm not sure.
