hi all!
i am a lurker in this forum and i think that this is the best place to ask something about the show.
i have a project which has to do whith characters in tv shows with dissabilities and i remember that there was a deaf recurring character in 7th heaven. could you possibly know if there was used sign language, the way the dissability was treated/ written and the communication between this character (heather i think) with the others?
if not, have you any clue where i could find such information?
i 'd also like to know if there were other characters with dissabilities that i ignore.

Yes, Heather Kane was deaf. She went to a special school for the deaf in Philadelphia. She signed and she could talk, but she didn't like the sound of her voice. No one made that big of a deal that she was deaf. Matt learned to sign a little bit, but Heather could read lips.


...What other dissabilities? I can tell you if they appeared on the show.

Um, there was a boy with Tourette's in Season 4 and a bunch of people with Down's.

Was there ever a blind person? I know there was a girl who was kind of blind.
