But does he get why people were offended, or is it still "they wanted the pretty white people to run off into the sunset" or "people are upset because they didn't get their personal ideal ending"?

The damage is done for me with Dinklage which is a shame as I loved him as Tyrion in seasons 1-4 and think he is a good actor. He just is going way too overboard defending his friends by insulting the viewers and acting like the criticism is irrational. Anyone who puts a form of art of media out there to the masses is opening it up for criticism, if someone can't handle that they are in the wrong job.
I never would except the cast to hate on D&D but they don't need to lash out at the fanbase to protect them. Just say something like "I loved working on this show and feel it was an amazing project to be involved in", even if he genuinely loved S8 for whatever reason he can be tactful. |
What I have gleaned from his recent interviews is that he is a great actor but seems to lack critical thinking when his personal feelings and bank account are involved.

Most actors are sadly very annoying people. Emilia is a positive exception.
