So understandably, a certain amount of resentment has been built,” Clarke says. “There's a lot of emotions that live within her, and there's a lot of confrontational aspects to her character that have come from circumstance. You understand why she has the feelings that she does.”

In the comics she is a villain, but the story in the MCU is entirely different, bc unlike in the comics her family here is good and not evil, so I assume she will be a goody too, albeit a morally grey one perhaps.

She's an undercover agent for the skrulls to take over earth, but in the comics her family is part of this invasion, in the mcu he family are refugees and good, so her role will certainly be different.
