I feel like GOT S8 kind of ruined this for me.

Before S8 I would have been so excited, I know the story already, but it would be so cool to see it acted out and with more detail. I read a lot about the Dance of the Dragons and it was definitely one of the stories that I would have said would be great adapted for television.

But after S8 I don't really feel like another

yep i totally understand what you mean. i am too curious to skip this but when i am watching, i will certainly be cautious now and not let myself get into it "too deep" like i allowed with GOT.

It bothers me how it happened every single time. I think not getting as invested as GOT is the right way to watch it, for now I think I will just see clips/behind the scene photos/etc. Before S8 I would have been seriously hyped
