As expected by pretty much everyone, Deke excused selling Daisy into slavery with a sob story. I'm really hoping that, if there's a character who comes to the present with the team, it's Tess. I don't need to see Deke's behavior rewarded, and I'm hoping that the current treatment of the character is how he's treated for the duration.

Deke sold Daisy into slavery. That's not something that I want to see handwaved or excused as if it's not a big deal. Deke crossed a line. I don't want to see Daisy or any of her friends act as if what Deke did is no big deal. He left her vulnerable to be raped, tortured, or killed, and his actions have endangered the remnants of humanity.

It's given them an opportunity to focus on the other characters, and the writers have had trouble focusing on serving all the characters (the actor who played Lincoln Campbell, Luke Mitchell, indicated this in an interview he did for BlindSpot when he referred his time on the show). I've liked the focus Mack has gotten so far. It’s incredible to see how far Mack has changed over the seasons. Humor aside, knocking out Virgil (because he was genuinely worried about Coulson’s safety) is such a contrast from the man who had concerns about Coulson’s leadership during his first season on the show.

His humor, his pain, his willingness to put it all on the line (like his desperate attempt to persuade Hive-controlled Daisy to come back to the team, and his refusal to let her accept any responsibility for what happened to him) - he adds so much to the show.

i agree with that mack has grown a lot i loved him in the last two seasons his humour is the best .

and with certain charcters i do agree they didnt get written well lincon got written backwards they could of did so much more with his character but they didnt which was a shame.

saying that i did miss fitz i love him his part of the original team its strange not to have him there .. but wow he wants to harm daisy wow nooo

I don't know if I agree with Luke Mitchell. I noticed that Mutant Enemy had focused a lot on Lincoln Campbell, especially during Season 3. The problem may have been Lincoln himself. He was never that interesting to me. It's possible that the showrunners may have realized this.

Deke crossed the line because Daisy couldn't keep her impulses in check. I know this sounds like victim blaming. But how many scenes have there been with Deke trying to warn the others - especially Daisy - about being discreet and not behaving like a bull in a china shop? If he had not previously warned her, I would have been immediately outraged about him betraying her. But he had . . . numerous times. And this wasn't the first time, Daisy had allowed her impulses to get the best of her.

Great episode. I really like the new season so far. They went into a really unexpected direction!
