I really don't get the point of Deke being shot - I don't really care that he was shot. He sold Daisy into slavery, and a few comedic moments don't really change how I feel about him. He also seems to have an issue with a woman being in charge.

I'm still trying to figure out why it is so imperative to Coulson that Daisy assume leadership of the team . . . now. This makes no sense. It seemed as if Mutant Enemy suddenly dragged this scenario out of the blue without considering her age and minimum experience with SHIELD.

Daisy has lead ops before in seasons two and three, and Coulson wanted her to be the Director in the fourth season. She also managed to make good decisions: she wanted Mack to stay on base because she knew Simmons might try something, she was right about Robin being able to be useful in helping locate Coulson, and there was a possibility that they could have gotten Ruby had Deke not screwed everything up.

Honestly, I'm not seeing why Daisy being a leader is a bad thing. Coulson wasn't perfect, either, and she's been able to do well so far (which made May's conversation with Coulson a bit weird, as well as how the episode glossed over Daisy's torture again).

^ It's been over a year since this dude has been our president, and every time he opens his mouth, my brain still has trouble processing that I'm not watching cheesy reality TV. But at least the episode was showed in its entirety.

I'm still enjoying all the latest episodes.

Daisy is NOT the only one who has taken charge in Coulson's absence. She is not the only one who has led ops in the past.

She is TOO YOUNG, TOO INEXPERIENCED and she has bad impulse control in compare to her fellow team members. It was simply ridiculous watching her lead other agents who were more experienced than her - with the exception of Elena. And Coulson's belief that it is time for her to be SHIELD's new director just came out of the blue, due to this show's never ending portrayal of her as a Mary Sue. I didn't think Daisy was a Mary Sue when this show began, but now I'm more than convinced that she is one. And if someone tells me that this show is basically about Daisy, then ABC and Mutant Enemy should have called it "QUAKE" OR "DAISY JOHNSON", instead of "AGENTS OF SHIELD".

The right person to take charge if Coulson dies is Melinda May. But once again, she is shoved into the background, due to Daisy. When her ex-husband finally died, this damn show made it all about Daisy and barely touched upon Melinda dealing with Andrew's death. And now we have this implausible and idiotic story arc. Thank you, Mutant Enemy, for completely ruining my enjoyment of this show by making it all about some Mary Sue character without being honest about it.

Sure, but Mack is one step away from leaving S.H.I.E.L.D. (he's only staying because of Yo-yo), and May has never wanted to lead.

In comparison to whom? Fitz, who built robots that endangered the lives of most of the team and tortured a woman rather than speaking to her? Simmons, who let Fitz loose because the potential of him to become another Ward? Yo-yo, who thinks that she's now invincible (along with Simmons)?

S.H.I.E.L.D. has a skeleton crew right now, it's a criminalized organization, and there aren't many people left. I don't see the problem in Daisy becoming a leader; she's much older than she was in the comics when she took such a leadership position.

The show doesn't treat her like a Mary Sue - she screwed up early on in season one (by trusting Miles), she wasn't proficient in combat or firearms (she screwed up trying to shoot someone by the fourth episode), she made the mistake of trusting Ward - the idea that she's a Mary Sue is ridiculous.

Fitz, for example, not only knows his scientific field of mechanical construction, but somehow learned an entirely different field in the Framework, and also learned how to shoot two guns at the same time without any explanation or prior buildup or implication to such a proficiency. If you're going to point fingers at characters being treated in a special way, why not point to Fitz? He even tortured a woman for the second time, and that's being handwaved.

The show can't even be bothered to deal with her being tortured for a second time by Fitz, it's handwaved the actions of Deke and Fitz (the former of whom sold her into slavery for money, and trivialized his actions in the previous episode), and yet you think that it's treating her in a special way?

Yet Farscape isn't called the John Crichton Show, Guardians of the Galaxy isn't named for Star-Lord, and there are numerous other examples with movies and shows where a main character doesn't have the movie or show named after them. It's never a problem when the main character is a man, though.

I'm sorry - how is it all about Daisy when it continually ignores her? Was it the part where she was doing emotional support for the guy who sold her into slavery? Or when the show ignored her right after her torture to focus on Fitz and Simmons? It ignored her trauma again when the following episode focused more on everyone coddling Fitz than being there for Daisy, the actual victim. The idea that Daisy is getting all this story over the other characters has no basis whatsoever.
