So do I. It wasn't all Leekie,Donnie could have/should have asked questions and his wife cheated on him. He should have at least tried to figure out why she was being different. Plus, why did he complain to Leekie about how difficult Allison is?

Exactly. Donnie was/is shady. He never questioned anything that was going on? I don't even think he was stupid, I think he just didn't CARE. And I think that's even worse.

Surely in the 10 or so years they've been together he would've questioned some of it!

Maybe he complained how difficult she was, because he was thinking of leaving Alison. And Leaky was opposed because it would end the study. Also he could talk to Leaky about his marriage because he knew everything because of the study.

Perhaps he was compensated for participating in the study, which kept him staying?

Yesterday made me wonder,but yes,he probably didn't care. If he did,he would have questioned all of this.

If by "difficult" he meant cheating and a shift in behavior,then I get why. I still don't feel sorry for him and he should have told Allison that he was leaving her for cheating on him and acting crazy.

He probably was and he was an idiot for not questioning it. Why didn't he wonder why his wife cheated on him and became cold all of a sudden?
