The Weeping Lady | 2x05 | Episode Discussion
Monday October 20th, 2014 @ 9:00pm (EST) The newest supernatural manifestation to threaten Sleepy Hollow, the Weeping Lady, unexpectedly proves to be connected to Ichabod's past. Meanwhile, Ichabod deals with a revelation about his wife's past, while Katrina deals with one of her own. RULES: No fighting please, only healthy discussions. No bashing of the actors. __________________

Man, Ichabod seemed so broken at the thought of losing Abbie.
 Where is Jenny, I wonder? Also, I wonder what is this revelation about Katrina that Ichabod is supposed to find out. Katrina finally used her powers for something? lol. Katrina should've just told Ichabod the truth --- that was a lame reason to keep it. Nick kissing Jenny kind of just ruined any potential Abbie/Nick pairing for me. __________________

I cannot wait to rewind and watch that scene again... whew!
They cut out the Ichabbie hug though... that's alright - maybe it will show up in deleted scenes sometime... I don't get Katrina - although I think she may have some major issues. She thinks she's going to turn Henry/Abraham back to being good - or maybe just Henry - but methinks she's gonna end up turned herself. No good witch would EVER use dark magic - that part may have opened the floodgates to her turning over to the dark side. There were so many WTF moments with Katrina this episode - that secret of hers - man... can the writers make Katrina anything OTHER than shady? But FINALLY Ichabod doesn't just sweep her shadiness under the rug. FINALLY. Although seeing that Katrina needed a witch, but Abbie could step in there... that makes me SUPER excited - Abbie/Ichabod will definitely develop some powers or something going forward - they have to! Yeah, the writers are not helping themselves with Katrina. Her reasons for lying are completely nonsensical.
Also, did I miss something or was it implied that Katrina knew Ichabod was a witness on the day that they met? She lied about that, too, I guess. __________________

I loved the episode.
Blood Mary tonight right? Mary was just a person who was in love with Ichabod, but sadly Ichabod didn't love her the same... but as a friend he did care for her. I just wish Mary fell in love with someone else in the past for she wouldn't have to be in the middle of the whole Katrina and Ichabod relationship and then she probably could've lived a better, happier life. I loved watching the Ichabod and Abbie scenes tonight, their friendship gets stronger in each episode. I loved Caroline assuming that Abbie was "Miss Crane"  That whole scene was perfectly done! AND the fear in Ichabod when he thought he lost Abbie, you can just feel how much it effected him. I don't think he knows about mouth-to-mouth so thank goodness Nick came to the rescue! Well done scene.Now to Nick, his character is growing on my... and I think I prefer the chemistry between Nick and Jenny over the one he shared with Abbie, cause I didn't feel any sparks there with Nick/Abbie.  I just didn't see it. Katrina/Abraham.  I think I'm shipping them! Abraham really truly cares for Katrina. I loved something that Neil said in one of his interviews."I believe if he was forced to make a choice between Katrina or Moloch he would choose Katrina. .... He didn’t join Moloch because he believed in Moloch’s cause. He was dying and he joined Moloch because Moloch was the only path to retribution." There's way more in that quote but I just wanted to highlight that part. With Moloch, he was forced to join him because he was dying. With Katrina, he kind of got blindsided although he was still in love with her, it feels like he choose to marry her. He wanted to marry her. I think this episode Mary reminded me a bit of Abraham, they both love people: Ichabod and Katrina, who didn't love them back. Now Katrina with all of her lies? really? I agree with Ichabod, marriage without trust... it's an issue. The important things each marriage need: Loyalty, Care, Physic, Trust and Respect. Trust... Katrina lies about too much. Even Abraham said it in 2x01 that Ichabod doesn't know the real Katrina, she basically lied about everything. She didn't tell him she was a witch, she lied about her pregnant, she lied about a friend of his dying so she faked the letter. He always forgives her though... but it gets tiring. Like we are just waiting for what he will get blindsided by next. Poor Henry man... his relationship with Moloch is always going wrong somehow. lol This whole episode was great, I'm sure I left some stuff out of my review. lol It was so much going on. |

Random feelings:
Not here for a Jenny/Nick/Abbie triangle. I love Jenny and Abbie too much for that BS. Also not here for Nick to replace Jenny as a helper on the team. I missed Jenny tonight, and it feels like some of the stuff Nick's doing, Jenny could do just as easily. If Nick is only being brought onto the show as a drama causing love interest, no thanks. They're going to have to give me more than that to get me to warm up to the character. Just when I think I can't Abraham more than I already do, my love grows.  I kinda wish I could ship Katless, honestly......I like some of their interaction. But my mixed to negative feelings on Katrina prevents it. He really needed a chance to find another woman.Right now I'll ship Abraham/Me.  Ichabod and Katrina.....I just can't understand how I'm supposed to root for this couple, I really can't. If I had a truth serum to give to the writers that would be my first question - am I supposed to root for them as a couple? Because I feel the writing does not support that at all. I've yet to truly feel for Katrina as a character and all these secrets and information she's withheld from Ichabod.....just....... It would take an absolute writing miracle to turn them around for me at this point. I felt sorry for Mary - she wasn't a bad person and her life ended so tragically, and no one ever knew what happened to her. And poor Caroline......felt so bad for her. I really liked her. I love Ichabod's fierce concern for Abbie. Hate that they cut out that hug though. The scene when Caroline mistakes her for "Mrs. Crane" was so great! __________________

wow. that was a lot to take in. i am sad that caroline was killed. she was cute and it was nice that ichabod had someone to talk to besides the mills sisters. building more connections in the modern world. should have known she was going to die tho. everyone that crane talks to does. well almost everyone.
and at her calling abbie mrs. crane. who knows someday that may end up being true. still how embarrassed was ichabod when abbie came in like that. just walking into the cabin like she lives there too. bringing food for him. love them so much. i felt bad for mary. yes she was jealous but she was right about katrina. she called that. i don't trust katrina told the whole story. still felt like she was leaving stuff out. my issue with her is that she's never forthcoming with anything. it has to be prodded out of her. and i don't believe her when she said she was going to tell ichabod. she had no reason to confess especially after lying about what happened and writing that letter. only reason she told was mary last f.u to katrina by pointing in her direction causing ichabod to question why she did that. and i have to watch the ep again i missed whether or not she knew before hand that ichabod was a witness before he met him. if that's the case, well that a huge lie. WOW. i won't be surprised if katrina goes dark after all especially if she practiced dark magic to make that letter. a letter that she should have never wrote. because changed the outcome of ichabod's life. and she didn't trust that he would due his witness duty. so yeah for the greater good but like i'd be pissed that other people are making decisions about my life without my knowledge. i yelled out the biggest 'hell yeah' when ichabod confronted katrina. i really did. oh and a 'bout damn time too.' lol. so other than the occasion rolling of the eyes with katrina stuff i was pretty happy with the episode. i really liked mary and the weepy lady stuff was really cool. kudos to their special fx team. __________________

I'm hoping the hug ends up in a deleted scene on the S2 DVD or something...
And I feel you on shipping Katless - I felt more heat between them than I ever did with Ichatrina - but I'm having trouble shipping it... I'm confused... he doesn't have a head... Though that quote by Neil really just makes my heart break for Abraham... And Neil is quite fine. That scene when Ichabod just screams "she's drowned!" just broke my heart all wide open and stuff... so sad - he was soooo helpless. Is anyone else worried about Katrina using dark magic? That just feels like a big no no and that she might be playing right into Moloch's hands with that... |

Oh and one more thing to add, I LOVED seeing Katrina use her magic. That moment was awesome to watch. lol I guess I waited so long to seeher do something. So it was great.
Also people saying there is a Jenny/Nick/Abbie triangle? I don't read spoilers at all so I don't know but how do people see that. I didn't really see any type of foreshadowing romance between Abbie/Nick so... I don't see how Jenny/Nick kissing makes for a triangle? Was Nick brought in as a love interest for Abbie? I just didn't see it, probably I'll see in these next few episodes though. |
