He might be the one who needs space. I mean I was in Finn's place and when my boyfriend at the time broke up with me, I just couldn't be his friend. I didn't want anything to do with him the first weels. The though of even seeing him at school or in the street was overwhelming and I just couldn't face him. Deep down I feel like Finn knows the real reasons behind the break up and that's s why he's not pushing it right away. I also feel like Rae wasn't that ready to be in a relationship with Finn right away. She needed to get better emotionnaly before going head down in this. Tix death was the catalyst for an even more darker side of Rae and while she seemed to do better, the death of her BFF and the fact that she is not accepting herself...no way she and Finn could have worked. She needs to do a more deeper job on her issues.
As for Finn...he doesn't seems confortable at all being around Rae at this moment. Out of the two he's probably the one who's not taking it well. The "what I have done?" line said it all. |
Found Chloe likable for the first time ever this ep.
Rae outing Archie is never ok, especially over some petty clique garbage. She should've talked to him alone. Ngl I'm really not liking Rae this season. She's cruel and self-absorbed. I still can't believe she hasn't properly mourned Tix. I kinda miss the time when Rae thought Finn was a douche, because we were led to believe he had a personality. It already seems like his primary role in S2 will be pining after Rae from afar. When did he become Rae's ragdoll? It's disrespectful to his character and I wish his development didn't have to suffer just so that Rae could have another self-indulgent angst wank. |
Well, Finn pined for Rae from afar already in series one and that was no problem? Although I do think we'll get more insight into his character as the eps go by. I think it's too early to tell now.

the preview youtubes are already up for the next episode!
I want Rae to realize she is good enough for Finn and go back to him!! I love them together but I understand this creates drama for the show to continue. I hated when she put on that backstreet boys cd and just smirked in Finn's direction so unlike her! Her outing Archie at the end really broke my heart, the look on his face was unbearable!! Its never ok to do that to someone when they're not ready, I thought she was better than that especially after she returned the stupid bracelet and bought the cd she really wanted she had redeemed herself but when the Archie thing happened I was disappointed in her again. We do need Finns character to be built up a bit more, I do want to know why he likes her, I know he is not good with words but I want him to tell her why he likes her!! :in_love: |

It really hurts to dislike Rae in this episode especially since she was doing so well earlier but I like that this show is not afraid to show everyone's flaws and not just have one/two flawed people with the rest of them never screwing up. People are not that black and white sometimes and it's nice to see that being shown. |
I don't dislike Rae at all for what she did. I actually understand why she did it. But it's true that we weren't used to seeing Rae acting that way. So out of character.

I don't think Finn is necessarily being portrayed as 'perfect'. To me, he's always always come off as a three dimensional character, but the thing is unfortunately right now she sees him as someone who's way too good for her and out of her league and since the show is from Rae's perspective, that doesn't leave a whole lot of room for all these scenes to showcase the different sides of Finn. I think they has done a good job of showing us what kind of character he is though. I think he's a great guy, but never once did i think, "oh man he's too perfect to be real". I think it's interesting because if he dared to act any different than he was, people would probably say he was a jerk, because deep down he likes her, but can't get over her appearance. But instead he'd been nothing but amazing to her, and I don't think that makes him perfect or unrealistic. The problem is, Rae can only see what's wrong with her. She can't imagine why or how anyone like Finn could even like her, or want to be with her or touch her, so she has him on this pedestal, that no one could possibly live up to. Once she's finally able to find a way to be happy with herself and realize she is allowed to be loved just the way she is, not just by another person but herself, then she will see Finn for he truly is. Just a guy who's in love with a girl, just like anyone else. |
I can't understand why Rae did it. I get her being frustrated and wanting Archie to be himself, but I don't understand why she told the girl that Archie was gay just like that. He didn't deserve it. What if Archie told people that Rae used to cut herself, would she like that? No matter how frustrated she was, she should have suck it up and just talk to him in private. So what if Archie keeps making the same mistakes, isn't that something Rae can relate to?

I didn't really see Rae doing it for Archie to be himself. I mean that could have been the reason (and maybe the actual reason). But I took it a lot as Rae remembering how she felt when she found out he was gay and didn't want another girl to go through that. She felt awful afterwards. But even with that I still think she was in the wrong for outing him. She should have discussed things with him and remind him how she felt and that it isn't fair for him to do that to Lois.
Also maybe Rae is projecting a lot. Like with her being fake and lying to Finn about the reason for the breakout. So she takes out on Archie. Again no excuse for her outing him and I'm pissed at her for it but why I felt she did it. Damn all these complex characters that make me feel! |

I really don't think it would do any good either. As y'all said Rae has to love herself and see those things in herself because no matter what he says she wouldn't believe him.

He's a teenage lad who's not good with words. They haven't even been dating for long, so he doesn't know why he likes her he just does. He likes her because she's Rae - what that means or why, he can't put into words yet. The fact that he likes her should be enough, BUT, she is not well enough (or experienced enough at life) to understand that. I wish I could go back to my teenage self and say similar things. Ah, hindsight. Nari X |
