Joan is a consulting detective to the NYPD, and former sober companion of Sherlock Holmes. Joan was a Doctor before an accident with her patient caused her to be suspended, and she took up work as a sober companion. It was in this time she met her former client and now, friend, housemate and colleague, Sherlock Holmes.

Lucy Liu
Lucy is an American actress, model, artist, and occasional film producer. Known for her roles as Ling Woo in Ally McBeal, Alex in Charlie's Angels, Jessica Tang in Southland, Mia in Cashmere Mafia, and now as Joan Watson on Elementary.
