Even if the kids weren't big fans of their dad, especially when he got violent, he's still their father and now there's no opportunity for redemption or anything else. Not that that's really Rick's doing. Pete killed Reg (accidentally) and Deanna gave Rick the OK to kill Pete. Pete made his own decisions but so did Rick, and Rick admitted that he wouldn't have saved just anyone, he stood up to Pete for Jessie ‘cause he’s hot for her. Still, it's hard to imagine Jessie just rushing into Rick's arms after what happened. She and her kids probably need some time to process and grieve for the man Pete used to be, and then maybe Rick can step in. If they follow the comic book, Rick and Jessie will have a romantic relationship, but we'll have to see how they play it on TV. Season 6 will start filming a week from today,
