Ambrosia - very good. I'll take a few dozen "Fimmel Furnaces" One for every cold place on my body, and with the frigid temps around here only going lower, that's a lot of places. God I miss this show.(I know you're busy, but did you get my last PM? Just wondering.)

bump!
I don't like the new picture of Travis without his long locks! He looks like the naked chef guy now, not that its a bad thing. |
I unearthed a poem I wrote following the early cancellation of another show I really liked. I thought it might fit with some of the feelings we've expressed about Tarzan...
An episode or two of long cancelled shows sits on my shelf rarely exposed dredge up old memories of being enthralled but left pulling hair out until I'm quite bald cancel that cancel this it's this year's can't miss an hour or two of TV bliss but the ratings aren't there in a week or two so we cancel again what else can we do? |
*jumps in her dark poetry corner and snaps* (lol the cool coffee people don't clap, they snap)
*sniff* That's a really good poem, it makes me want to watch Tarzan, stupid WB, how can they replace it with the surreal life? |

I was wondering if anyone of you did tape the episodes that aired and can convert them into PAL? My friend loves Travis, and I don't think we'll ever get to see this show Well, If someone can help, PM me Anja [ 02-08-2004: Message edited wolkenfuehlen ] |
Hey wolkenfuehlen , welcome to the thread! Hmmm... well, I do have the episodes on tape but... what's PAL? You know, you could always point your friend in the direction of Wild Innocence and she could download clips from the show. I know it's not as great as entire episodes but it might do until you can work something out .
black 4ngel - I adore your wallpapers! Actually I have one as my desktop right now . Ooh, and I just saw that they were linked to at WI! Great job! Quote:
Ne-fehr-ious - Love the poem as it, sadly, applies to me as well . Well, except some of my fave shows of "yester year" I don't even have on tape . Anyway, I just added some "news" to Sarah and Travis' threads. (If you visit WI or the tarzantheseries boards you probably already know about it ). [ 02-09-2004: Message edited ~*Ambrosia*~ ] |

ETA: You know what? I just read that we'll get Tarzan this summer!!! Wow. Well, I don't think I still need the tapes. But I'll be posting here again as soon as I watched the first episode, I promise Anja [ 02-12-2004: Message edited wolkenfuehlen ] |
Ok, now from the more than you wanted to know department...
PAL, SECAM, and NTSC are the three main systems for color standardization on television. Finally, my old broadcasting books come in handy. I wish I could say it was all off the top of my head, but a degree in Broadcast Communications from an American college doesn't mean you learn much about the systems used in other parts of the world. NTSC is the system useed in N. America, SECAM was developed in France, and PAL was a W. German developement. I'm not sure what other parts of the world use which. I found a whole two paragraphs in one of my books... "...Fourteen different monchrome technical standards and three color systems make it impossible in many cases to use television sets built in one country in another country without adding converters...The three color television systems represent separate American, French, and German government decisions..." Just thought I'd throw in some info, no matter how useless it may be. |
The computer is just being unpleasant today, so it double posted my useless info.

Am I the only one left in the jungle? Hello?
Did my boring facts turn everybody away? |
Sadly, there wasn't many in the jungle to start with and, now that the attractions have closed up, it seems everyone's hopped on their Range Rovers and headed back to the village .

Face it - they clear cut the jungle, and then burned the stumps before they left too. I've had to cling to branches in other patches of jungle just to keep alive.
