Thanks for the article they put Meghan's name in the title but the main topic is actually Patrick's departure interesting read Marvey is indeed the heart of the show but why do they speak as if Patrick would never ever come back ?

Thanks for sharing--the title is misleading, but the heart of the article is spot-on, and it's why I"m ambivalent about a s8 renewal if, in fact, Patrick does leave. But, what if Patrick remains in a recurring role?

Suits has managed to move forward without Gina as a regular, but Jessica Pearson has returned in pivotal moments that keep her relevant to the story. If the same can be done with Mike Ross, I'm open to it but still....I fear a decline in the quality of storytelling more than a decline in ratings. Even Darvey means less w/o Mike as Harvey's ballast.

Jessica was my favorite character and Gina was the reason I watched this show. I still watch the show even when she left because (apart from the obvious ship I want to see end up soon), I still do enjoy the show even without her around. Mike/PJA is a bigger character though and Mike/Harvey has always been a pivotal dynamic since S1 so PJA leaving the show will take a hit, imo.
