Numb3rs ~ It's All in the Math
Rob Morrow stars as FBI agent Don Eppes, who recruits his mathematical genius brother, Charlie (David Krumholtz), to help the Bureau solve a wide range of challenging crimes in Los Angeles. From two very different perspectives, the brothers take on the most confounding criminal cases, aided by Don's partner, Terry Lake (Sabrina Lloyd), and new FBI recruit David Sinclair (Alimi Ballard). Although their father, Alan (Judd Hirsch), is pleased to see his sons working together, he fears their competitive nature will lead to trouble. Charlie's colleague, physicist Dr. Larry Fleinhardt (Peter MacNicol), urges Charlie to focus more on his university studies than on FBI business. Inspired by actual events, NUMB3RS depicts how the confluence of police work and mathematics provides unexpected revelations and answers to the most perplexing criminal questions. ROB MORROW as Don Eppes FBI Special Agent Don Eppes recruits his mathematical genius brother Charlie to help the Bureau solve their most difficult cases. Don makes great sacrifices in his personal life in order to devote himself completely to his job. DAVID KRUMHOLTZ as Charlie Eppes Charlie Eppes, professor of mathematics at a Southern California technical university, uses math to help his brother Don solve perplexing crimes for the FBI. Charlie is wary of people and enthralled with objects. JUDD HIRSH as Alan Eppes Alan Eppes, proud father of Don and Charlie, is pleased that his competitive sons are working together. Alan is retired, but keeps busy getting involved in the personal lives and careers of his sons. SABRINA LLOYD as Terry Lake Terry Lake is Don's beautiful and focused FBI partner. Terry starts to see Don in a new light, but hides her growing attraction to her partner. PETER MACNICOL as Dr. Larry Fleinhardt Dr. Larry Fleinhardt, Charlie's friend and colleague, urges him to focus his attention more on his math studies than on FBI business. A brilliant physicist, Larry is awkward in social situations. ALIMI BALLARD as David Sinclair Don has taken new FBI recruit David Sinclair under his wing. David gets a quick education when he is thrust deep into some of the FBI's most daunting and dangerous cases. Regular Airdate: Fridays 10pm E __________________

I LOVE NUMB3RS! I saw an episode yesterday after the AFC championships and I really enjoyed it. Does anyone know how does this show do in terms of ratings?

I taped this show and plan on watching it tonight. I'm such a dork, I've been excited about this show for almost a year! I first heard about it last spring and then was disappointed when it didn't show up in the Fall lineup. But my sister really liked it and I've read good things, so I'm excited. Oh, and I'm such a Math geek that I'm sure I'll love it.

*Shetan*, I haven't read anything on the ratings yet, but when I find info I will be sure and post it here.
AmandaJO, you'll enjoy it I am sure. It was a great pilot in my opinion. Showing the mathmatician as a "non-geek" ... wasn't he successfully flirting with his student? Definetly going to be a fun show to watch and see how it develops and how the characters flesh out. But it's on Friday night and I already have too much on Friday night! __________________

AmandaJo- Haha, i'm just a dork/geek too... My favorite part was the whole math stuff, as fake or real it may be, it was really neat... Shetan __________________

AmandaJO-Wow a year ago I had no idea this show was coming on I didn't even know about it until yesterday.
I thought the show was great. At first I wasn't sure about the whole numbers solving crimes but it seemed to work for the show. I liked Charlie flirting with his student too. When I first saw the girl I recognized her from the O.C. I didn't like her too much on that show but I hope there will be a little romance between her and Charlie and she'll become a regular. |

The Pilot was very strong in that introduced everyone, yet also introduced season-long arcs that can be built upon as the series continues.
I'm sure the math is at the very least based on real fundamental principles even if the actual execution on the show is just for show to keep the story moving. Thank God I finally have another reason to watch network TV again. Between this, Veronica Mars, Medium and maybe Point Pleasant, I'm actually turning off cable and getting back to the roots of prime time dramas. I've been saying this for a few years now: Reality TV is played out and people WANT good, scripted shows with good characterizations and concepts and they WILL tune in for them if they are as well done as Numbers. |

I'm excited for friday... i really loved this show... I mean unlike CSI, I really like the character development... I mean sometimes well at least for me it's hard to like ship people and like the people when they seem so distant... but in numb3rs, it has a lot of wit and character... I really enjoyed it... Are we allowed to post spoilers and such on this board?

Actually Friday nights used to be bad for me working part time, but since i've quit, there's nothing to watch now. I'm glad Numbers started. I really liked it and so did my husband (math whiz).
I liked the relationship between the brothers/father and I love Judd Hirsch. He's always great on shows. I agree about the reality tv crap. I'm tired of it! __________________

Josh'sTexasGal- Yes...I know... I used to watch Joan of Arcadia, but I slowly grew out of it... But after watching Numb3rs it seems that there's a new exciting show out there... And I defintely agree with the whole family bond thing... it's really nice to see because so many times there tv families that are incredibly dysfunctional and once you get to think about it,its kinda sad how people who share the same genes can't really get along...

Sabrina Llyod was on Aaron Sorkin's "Sports Night", no? With Peter Krause and Felicity Huffman.
Ah, I watched the pilot and liked it a lot. Navi Rawat was so hot. And I love seeing Peter Macnicol again as I was a huge fan him and his character on Ally McBeal. As for Rob Morrow, wow, he really grew up a lot. I loved Northern Exposure and his character on Numb3rs is nothing like his character on NE. I think the pilot was pretty good - and I think I'll keep watching for a while. __________________
