There are a bunch of companion books.

Not sure what their stories entail but wonder if they'd be adapted in anyway as like a prequel season based on Olaf?

Ah I think the show won't concentrate on companion books anymore. Harry Potter has companion books as well but the focus was just on the 7 books JKR had written. So I'm assuming the show will only concentrate on the 13 books Daniel Handler wrote.

But of course maybe down the line, if Netflix wants to, they can. My only concern is NPH because he's a family man and would most likely not like to be tied down to a TV show for very long until his kids get older.

That’s a good point about NPH and his family too. Either way I’m looking forward to season three, even if it is the last.

Hopefully we find out soon what will be their next project. I hope it'll be another TV series or even a movie would be good.
